I have Calman too. I have been a client of Spectracal when it used Excel..thanks for posting the uncalibrated and calibrated results. Very few reviews even touch this area anymore..

I have read mixed reports on how well this compares with the NX7. Some say that the NX7 has noticeably better blacks and the color filter makes a noticeable difference. Others say that they can't tell the difference between a properly calibrated NX5 and a properly calibrated NX7. Have you compared the NX5 and the NX7 side by side? Is the difference even noticeable, and does the NX7 even look better when viewed by itself compared to the NX5?
@ozarkbagger1380 Жыл бұрын
I have an nx5 and a friend has the nx7. We did a side by side with my Sony 665es. The Sony had a beautiful picture of course and the blacks weren’t bad until we did the comparison. Now JVC obviously is the king of black levels but we especially he was surprised at the dramatic difference. All that to say had he seen the nx5 before he said he may not have gotten the nx7. It has improved stats of course due to its price difference but I seriously doubt you could be disappointed in the nx5. Now of course it’s not the NZ models out now but its picture is absolutely gorgeous! I have a completely blacked out theater so that helps. No light reflection from walls or anything.

No auto lens cover? After all these nice specs? Thought it had the same chassis as the nx7.

I wish that Phil had spent a little more time in the review to compare more aspects/comparison to the NX-7; a lot of folks are trying to decide between the NX-5 and the NX-7.

What about 25p? I make a lot of 4K videos for KZbin and myself and my JVC X7000 can´t show the 25p correctly. It seems to skip one frame every second which is unwatchable. Has this motion issue been corrected with these new models? I use a Oppo UHD player with HDMI 2.0 and with a Pc the issue is the same.

I haven't seen any issues with 25p motion wise. I watch a lot of Sky+ and KZbin content and haven't seen any frame drops.

Can you please compare these Native 4K projectors with the 4K pixel shifting DLP projectors? I'm considering migrating to this PJ from my UHD65. Thanks!

Great review. Any plans on reviewing the NX7 as well?
It's so frustrating that these so called premium projectors have such low lumens!! I just dont understand why JVC and sony as well does this crap! 1700 lumens? Really JVC!! Come on!!!
@bryanp48274 жыл бұрын
Need low lumens for so called better black levels...it's laughable really...
@busterbrown16864 жыл бұрын
Spec sheet says 1800 lumens, 1500 is sufficient for home theater with low ambient light. The Sony 295 ($1,000 cheaper) only has 1500 lumens. Your paying for 4096 x 2160 premium projector (siking myself up) . Want more lumens step up to the plate and get a RS2000, (1900 lumens), or cheap BenQ. Don't get me wrong, I agree 2000 should be the minimum for $6,000. I wish Panasonic was still in the game, love my AE7000. We are just peons with issues.

As good as the budget DLP machines are from BenQ, they can't compete with the JVC.

@@avforums I have owned many jvc projectors in the past and had problems with all of them. (pink stripe) Premature bulb failure, Ballast issues. They throw a better picture than the budget models but they are not worth the price tag. Diminishing returns. The rs1000 is 8 grand plus tax here in Canada
@spiderman08634 жыл бұрын
@Barrett Withers JVC DILA is a one trick pony.(Black level) And that is if you get one without problems. Too much money for too many issues.
@DoNultima4 жыл бұрын
What an absolutely horrible suggestions. the JVC N5 is vastly superior to any BenQ 4K. If you are poor, go for the benQ, but if you actually want to invest in a cinema with GOOD picture, inky deep blacks, punchy contrasts etc you need JVC. diminishing returns does not apply here. a €5000 JVC projector is superior to many €10,000 projectors.
