I went with the 7722 about a week ago. Reason being, I had a very poor previous experience with a JVC headunit, swapped twice and it was still buggy and would freeze up at random, with the only way to unfreeze it was the pull over and turn the car off. I'm sure things have improved since then (it was a model from 2019, last updated in 2021). But that put me off JVC. Also, I prefer the home screen look on the Kenwood. Finally, I've heard that Kenwoods are supposedly better built and sound better. How true this is, I don't know. Really happy with my choice though. What did you get in the end?

​@@RikAindowUh, uh, it was a terrible experience... So it seems that the quality level of JVC is not good. Some netizens say that k2 audio technology is very good. I'm not sure what the difference is between this and kenwood's supreme technology (maybe for SBC and AAC). Unfortunately, in 2023 JVC is still using capacitor screen technology, so I also gave up JVC m960.

Are you able to let me know which remote steering setup I need for this, please? I have the Connects2 CTSAD00C.2 but I am having no success using the 3.5mm jack with this.

I bought this unit based off of your reveiew, however I have say that I am disapointed with microphone quality. Its perfectly fine while the car is standing still, however as soon as I get above 30mph the caller cant hear me. The microphone seems to cut in and out, and you hear a lot of distortion through the call. DO you have any suggestions?

Is the handfree good ? my old head unit has alot of noise and it's better to use the phone speaker over 80kmh

Pretty much the same thing except this one has DAB+ a type of digital radio. JVC headunits with DAB+ have a D in their model numbers. :)

What if your car has a mic already? Do you need the gps antenna?

The GPS antenna is needed for Apple Car Play to work. I think Android Auto works without it, but won't be as accurate. Also, the GPS antenna is meant to help you save battery as it means your phone doesn't have to use its GPS.

The GPS is there for use with Android Auto or Car Play. The unit itself doesn't have standalone navigation.
