had both - 6050 all the way (unless you allergic to weight) - newer nz30 still looses. nx5 is arguably wins some while looses on lumens - imho have to go up to nx7 to finally beat 6050 and then you triple the price diff. I have nz9 in one room and still my heart belongs to 5/6050s. my 5050 now has over 30k hours on it and still going strong (nzs are only 20k before become $ paperweght)

The idea of no maintenance laser, at this price point is appealing. Having had an Epson 3lcd in the past, bulb cost plus dust inside the lense is a turn off. Be interesting to get input lag figures for the JVC at some point though. It’d the old thing, no projector is perfect.

yes. 2.35 and 16x9 or imax or 4:3 whatever you like you can program no additional scope or lens needed

Really bizarre though ... just checked out the Epson online and in the specs saw /read this: Aspect Ratio: Native 16:9 widescreen (4:3 resize,16:10 resize) Compatible with 4:3 with Normal, Full or Zoom Modes (Anamorphic Wide and Horizontal Squeeze require an Anamorphic Lens Kit, sold separately) Am not sure why it's stating a separate lens kit required if it can display 2.35 out of the box. Confused! Any thoughts please guys??? Cheers D

The test was made with some light in the room, which is not a good thing. In a pitch black room, the much better native contrast of the Epson will blow this DLP away

the epson has the advantage at 25-27ms latency. the jvc uses DLP which is shower for gaming. there are no latency specs published yet

I have not had issues with them, still have a working 1080ub and I could not see any dusting issues after many years of use.

Jim jONES you must not have watched their other video of the comparison between the 6050 and the 5050, I’m referring to the fact that they showed the 6050 only gives you HDR on 24 fps content, as in the limited amount of content the 6050 will let you see HDR on, not the amount of content out there with HDR

Lamp duration is not a minor spec. The Epson looks better but for how long? I would like a short comparison @ 1,000 hs and @ 2,000 hs. That would be the normal situation, rather than "out of the box". My two cents...

the X790 will outclass Epson in almost every aspect, except HDR tone mapping but it is normal , because it was a high end projector

George Popescu or a custom gamma curve that takes 10 minutes to install. The HDR slider on the Epson stinks too. Your constantly changing it scene by scene it’s not set it and forget it. Only after Chad B calibrated my unit was HDR set it and forget it.

its just 2600lm lcd though the other is 3000lm dlp. I get trying to compare out of the box settings but do you only wanted to do that because the Epson wasn’t in the lead. I would compare them at their best and have the camera NOT adjust exposure automatically, that bugged me the most.
