Great information. I have a JVC-NX7 and a Panasonic UBP-9000, and your videos have helped me in adjusting everything. You've gained a new subscribers. Thank u.

Thanks for the video. The 2.2 vs 2.4 Gamms is more of a preference than a rule. A quick search on the topic shows more prefer 2.2, unless the video is "just right" for 2.4.

What it means 2.2 and 2.4?
@JimBob19372 жыл бұрын
@@Audiovont They're set points for a non-linear curve correction for output brightness. Human eyes don't perceive brightness increase in a straight line (a 1 unit brightness increase isn't perceived as a 1 unit of brightness increase). So a gamma curve is applied, and this affects how the brightness is adjusted per the source material. However, one thing most people get wrong, is that the gamma set point varies with your environment, display brightness, and material. So it can vary a tad and isn't a perfect recommendation, though something between 2.2 and 2.4 is usually good.

Do you know if it's possible to switch the memory settings (zoom) without seeing the onscreen menu? It always bothers me, because first I need to select the memory setting and wait a couple of seconds until it's done and then I have to press the memory settings button again to close the menu.
@DavidSusiloUnscripted3 жыл бұрын
I bought the older version of JVC remote that has 3 direct access to the memory settings. I just use that for my 3 most used settings: 16:9, 2.4:1, and 1.9:1
@bond2k33 жыл бұрын
@@DavidSusiloUnscripted Awesome. And that switches directly to the format without showing any OSD?
@DavidSusiloUnscripted3 жыл бұрын
@@bond2k3 it will still show “loading memory” OSD but it skips the need to go into and out of menu

Hi I have one of the Panasonic ub9000 connected to mine, I saw in picture mode you used Frame Adapt HDR instead of Pana_PQ. What is the difference seeing both Panasonic and Jvc came together to come up with that mode?
@DavidSusiloUnscripted2 жыл бұрын
I find the Frame Adapt is more pleasing to the eyes than Pana PQ so I just keep using the Frame Adapt.
@arthurlipscomb3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Will these same settings work with the NZ7? If you are using a Panasonic player is it best still to go with Frame Adapt HDR or switch over and use Pana_PQ?
@DavidSusiloUnscripted3 жыл бұрын
NO. I don’t know yet what the settings for the new NZ series yet. For your second question, based on my personal tests, the frame adapt HDR is still slightly better than Optimizer + Pana PQ setting.

@@frankr9307 auto is simply easier to setup. If you don’t really know what you prefer, just use auto

Do you turn everything off In the motion control settings? I have everything off.

I turn everything off. I don’t like adding interpolated frame.

Thank you for the feedback. One other question. Is Theater Optimizer a “must use” option? I never used it on my NX5 but now have an NX7. I thought the picture looked really good without using it on my NX5. I’m testing it on my NX7 and have it set to low, like you mentioned. I notice a smidge brighter picture but nothing that would say “oh, now that’s a 100% better.” Compared to turning the optimizer off. Just wondering your thoughts on that.
