JW Marriott Austin Texas - LUXURY? I Didn’t Feel It! Full Hotel Review/ Tour!!

Reviews are excellent and detailed. I was trying to find the perfect place to stay and watched all three Mariott reviews and it helped me out so much. I had been searching online like for hours on Tripadvisor, Google,Yelp, etc but none of those searches bought everything to life or answered every question I could have wanted or needed to know like these reviews. The reviews are so down to earth, personable and most important honest. Thank you.

Super convenient that you reviewed the Marriott and the JW Marriott as I was considering staying at them next week. Cash rates of $240/$270 respectively and I think we may trend towards the JW because of the dining options. Thanks for the great reviews.

@@gogotravelwithjosh Got two rooms at the JW and stayed Saturday night. Pros: * Customer service generally good. Upgraded to a high floor as a Plat. They gave full elite benefits to my second room, so $10 food voucher, lounge access, and the same "upgrade". * Breakfast was better than expected! * Dinner at The Corner was really good. Cons: * Elite desk was empty so waited in line at regular check-in. Only had to wait 5-10 mins, though. * $68 for valet, but they didn't offer to help with bags and when I texted for vehicle pickup the system said my car had already been retrieved. We went downstairs and had to wait for them to pull it. * Wine in the lounge is supposed to be self-service, but had a sign saying attendant needed to pour. Filled out a drink slip and gave to attendant but they never brought tine wine. Asked 10 minutes later and they were surprised we were following the sign and to just pour it ourselves. So I agree with your review. Basically, it's a nice hotel, but they aren't really offering the full luxury touch. Nothing I experienced is going to make me go out of my way to stay here again.

I did not stay at W as rooms and interior all looked extremely dated. I even went there while in Austin and the lobby was so dated it puts other W hotels to shame and needs a renovation! Building is cool but inside is not. How was your experience?

Recording was on low. Why would you want more food, your skinny so you don't eat much.
