I can understand a game like Dragon's Dogma 2 struggling to go above 30 fps since its a massive seamless interactive open world with tons of NPCs, enemies, etc... I was a PC gamer for about 12 years back in the early 2000's then got a iMac to work on (way better than the PC's I built). I even did some gaming on this iMac (Dying Light, Borderlands 2, Arkham City, and many more usually 1080p 60 fps +). Finally last summer I got my first console the XBox Series X and I chose it over the PS5 because I liked the hardware better and also bc of Game Pass. I have a backlog of DOZENS of amazing top tier games to play from 2012-2020 that I missed out on and they all play at 4k60 and most look better than the brand new 2023+ games that are maxing out at 30 FPS, or use heavy FSR techniques. Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is the best looking game I've played, and it's massive with lots going on and it's a locked 4k60. Then I try the brand new Gotham Knights, which is similar in game style, actually smaller in scope than Shadow, and it's 30 FPS. What?! TitanFall 2 is 10 years old, gave that a try and had to double check how old it was because it looks AMAZING and is 4k60 or even 120 if you want. Immortals Of Aveum looks and plays like garbage. Couldn't even get through the free trial it was so bad. The original Hellblade was fantastic, but also it was not a hyped game, and sort of came out of nowhere. The graphics had some FSR to get to 60 FPS and when I saw the trailer for Hellblade 2 I knew there was no way they'd get 60 FPS sadly. Also this game is soooo hyped up, there is no way it can deliver or live up to the hype imho. And I won't play it or any game if it's 30 FPS as it kills immersion. I'll take 1440p 60FPS with great design over 4k30 with raytracing and all the UE5 buzzwords, ANY day. I mean, even Metro Exodus is 4k60 with raytracing! But like I said, I've got a TONNE of great games from 2012-2020 to play with that will last me a couple years. But for people who have owned consoles and have kept up with all the games as they are released, I really feel sorry for you/them because there really hasn't been much if anything that has come out the past couple years worth playing and that doesn't have framerate limitations or look terrible because of super aggressive upscaling. The Dead Space Remake was the only "new" game I really liked (and I never played the originals so that was a bonus) though even that game had slight frame hiccups and did need FSR. I wouldn't get as angry as the guy who made this video because it's only video games, and if you don't like games, don't buy them. But at the same time if I was all in back in 2020 I would def be disappointed with how the marketing was quite misleading (PS5 and Xbox). It seems the way consoles are though, going back even 20 years, is that the games released for the current gen consoles always have some sort of performance issues and you have to be one console gen ahead of the game you play to get the best performance (not always, but most of the time).
