It took me a long time to find this timeless hit, but I did ! Old rodeo days , first heard this song. In Mansfield, Texas, back when it was open fields.

This song was popular when I lived in Houston TX in the 80's and 90's. I loved it then and I love it now. I left my heart in that city. CRL

Saw him in 1975 when I was 7 yrs. old with Narvel Feltz and Ronnie Milsap was the headliner. Pure Love by Milsap was popular at the time but I thought this song was popular in the mid 70s as well. I could be wrong but I identify with this song as a little kid. Memory plays tricks on me sometimes.

Country music was so well polished back then. The emotion was heartfelt and profound. Didn't matter whether you were male/female. I'm a Rocker/Metal Head but will appreciate ,love and defend Classic Country Music til the day I die. Thanks for posting this classic.

Greg M. I agree to disagree this is country

@@cotyluckett Sorry to disagree with you. This is most certainly country. Oh, not like what people call country today. It is a classical barroom, belly rubbing dance song. It was also a great song when skating was big.

I agree with everything you posted. Sure miss real country.

Love this song by John Wesley, I met him a long time ago in Monroe, Louisiana and got his autograph, he was so nice and spent time talking with me and my husband.

This song was a hit in the late 70's early 80's...the years when I made one of the biggest mistakes of my life.....I thought he was the FOOL, I went back and it turned out I was the biggest FOOL. I should not have been so forgiving and so naive. Wasted the best 20 years of my life.
