Unfortunately Tesla has a cult following so you will get these types of people that will only praise Tesla and bring everything else down. I see people like this on X (Twitter) every single day. I still like ICE cars, other EVs (like Rivian), etc on top of Tesla but there are many out there that are "Tesla or die".

The new Model Y rwd long range is accurately efficient.. you can actually go 70mph-80mph and still get 300+ miles of range. Why?? Because it's a rwd lighter then the awd.. if you decide to get the rwd long range Model y, make sure to drive it on chill mode to maximize range.

From personal experience, GM rates their range conservatively compared to other manufacturers, especially Tesla. Our Bolt EUV regularly far exceeds its EPA range estimate in the summer months. I would choose the Equinox or Blazer EV's any day over the Tesla. The charging network is not a concern to me, especially with NACS coming for 2025 vehicles, and GM has an adapter for vehicles that still have CCS.

I have a 2018 Volt and I’ve not had one issue with it still getting over 50 miles on a charge and a full tank of gas . With that said I been shopping full electric and just test driving a different manufacturer every week so I can have an accurate assessment of what everyone is really offering . So far my favorite has been the ev6 gt. Competitors now that aren’t made in the us are just giving those same rebates off of the top now so the equivalent of the tax credit plus any other incentive they have too . In my opinion from a recent road trip from St. Louis to Dallas to see my sister I used mostly electrify America and ChargePoint and had no issues getting point A to point B and was surprised I could find stations everywhere even at Walmart . If range anxiety is a fear for people I can tell you it’s 3/4 of the way solved so long as existing stations are up and maintained. And I’d take a lot of the competition over a Tesla based on my rental road trips even with the robust network, experience ,and the added trust I have in companies that have had plug in hybrids for decades that now make full electric. And if you don’t have an adapter look into Lectron they have an adapter for the Tesla network

The 1LT trim will have a base price of $35K. It is due by the end of the year. And that qualifies for the $7,500 government rebate. And at that price and range that will be the best deal going for EVs. I should note that GM had discussed having a $30K price for that trim but that's before they decided to give all trims the larger battery. Also hasn't GM announced access to Tesla Supercharger network? I agree that the Chevy interiors are MUCH nicer than the Telsa's.
@jeffs60905 ай бұрын
GM is next up to get adapters sent out to their EV customers. Though, haven't heard when but should be soon. Then, of course, they should have native NACS ports for the 26 model year.

I believe the 2RS is the highest level trim possible. They always release the highest trims first and then move down to the lowest trim models which will be in the 30’s I think they said they increased the lowest price from $30k to $35k but it gets the full credit so it will be in the high 20’s. I have been waiting for this car to come out so I can see in person. Blazer just looks bad and is too big for what I am wanting IMO.

The issue with the starting prices is that the legacy auto manufacturers and their EVs is that they release the higher cost trims first and the advertised lower starting cost wouldnt be realized until 2025 when they start selling the 1LT trims.

The higher tier your looking at is the higher cost one, the trim level below it is around 35k and plus you get that 7500 tax rebate

@@smartphoneconversations On the flip side of that the pre-2021 Tesla's cannot charge on 40 percent of all US fast chargers because they are hardware limited even if they try with an adapter. Yes any brand including Tesla with out pre-conditioned battery may have its speed limited. There is not any priority in the Tesla CPO on Ford or Rivain activated locations.

1LT originally was to have a smaller battery at $30K. It was changed to $35K but that includes the same battery as the other trim lines and transport costs. So the difference is really ~$3.6K ($1.4 for destination) but for that it includes the bigger battery and takes into account the higher inflation that wasn't expected when the vehicle was originally announced. Consider the $7,500 gov rebate and the price ends up at $27.5K, not bad at all for someone that wants to get into decent sized EV.

Yet, how much of your driving mix do road trips really take up? It costs me about 1/4 as much to charge my Bolt EUV at home for 99% of my driving, than it did to pay for gas on a Chevy Cruze, and the Cruze averaged around 33 MPG on mixed driving, and mid 40's on the highway.

It for sure does not cost more to charger an EV, I can see you do not have one. I have both gas and EV, and it's less than HALF to charge up on an EV when compared to getting gas.
