At the end of the day, the only person who could destroy Gus was himself. That's what makes him one of the best antagonists to ever be created.

Something I really love about Better Call Saul is that it didn’t just bring back character from Breaking Bad for a cheap cameo, they enriched the characters by giving them deeper backstories. Gustavo was a great example of this

Man, Gus was downright scary. Like, horror movie scary. He looked and acted just like an ordinary friendly civilized man when, in fact, he was a dangerous, calculating, cold-blooded murderer. He'd shake your hand with one hand and slit your throat with the other. His subtlety is what made him so terrifying. At least Tuco would look you in the eye and tell you he's gonna kill you, but with Gus, you won't see it coming.

My favorite quote of that guy, paraphrased, goes something like "Should we feel bad about using dishonest, immoral, and even bad tactics against our enemies and opponents? The answer is, if men were good and just, it would be morally wrong to use bad tactics against good and righteous men. But men are not good, they are bad, and since men are bad, and do not do right unless they are forced to, and at all other times they do wrong, we should have no hesitation treating bad people with bad tactics."

This may be a strange comparison, but Gus always reminded me a bit of Hannibal Lecter. Especially in his mannerisms: an obsession with excellence and dignified presentation (right down to the nervous tie adjustment), the love and appreciation for food, the traumatic childhood in which both characters starved (albeit in very different ways), and habit of constantly surrounding themselves with people who adore them and thoroughly trust them while committing constant acts of evil just out of sight of their party guests. They’re both socially beloved and intellectually praised puppet masters who love food and well tailored suits, but with a shared hatred of rude and sloppy people. The two main differences are that Gus isn’t a cannibal, and Hannibal Lecter was born into generational wealth while Gus was born into poverty and became wealthy on his own.

Not really . Nacho was already a scumbag tbh before gus got to him . Like , yeah ''oh he got cought uo with bad people oh nooo'', come on, he wanted to steal the money from the kettlemans , he later stole the cards and the pills from pryce . like how did he get cought up in the first place , like , compare him to jesse . he had a great dad and he was a major scumbag , compared to jesse with his horrible parents *while* he was a junkie and still , look at him. also mike told him something like this '' i warned you there are other people you need to worry about when going after hector'' , he made a choice , and he was aldready in the game , its not like gus picked a random guy to help him , he took advantage of...the guy running the salamanca station up north . im really tired of people pretending nacho is some good , poor guy . and werner also knew what he was in for , he came to the station with a bag over his head , asked to work in secret , told he was dealing with bad people etc. and he fucked up when he disclosed information while drunk , for which he only got a stern warning and told again how serious these illegal people are...and then he burned the cameras , broke the locks and went to fucking hang out in a resort , not to mention willy nilly talking to a rando on the phone who simply pretended to be a guy of gus . and all this *after* he already had made a blunder . the salamancas killed a random employee, the random good samaritan that saved the driver , lalo killed that couple just to use their bodies , the twins killed all those immigrants and that random guy at the parking lot , hector and lalo killing that random hotel clerk and his wife , lalo manipulating the women of ziegler and also killing her...im sorry but how are they the same man? not saying gus is a good guy but come on

@@ΣτέφανοςΔημόπουλος-η7τThat's why Nacho deserved to die? He tried to steal money from people who stole millions from taxpayers. And he stole pills from a guy who stole pills from work. The scariest part is having observe sadism in the actions of kids when I was younger. Then knowing that these kids turning into adults will learn how to cover up their sadistic tendencies.
