The founder of the band, Rhythm guitarist Miku Kobato (Po ) is not a backgroundsinger in my eyes, she is the second singer. Starting the band, she did begin as the singer but realized very early, that her voice is not as powerful for Rock, as she wanted. So she stepped back and found a real Rock-Singer and did learn then to play the guitar. Amazing attitude and a real teamwork. You can see in their first video "Thrill", that she used the guitar there more as an decoration element, but soon with the help of the lead guitar Kanami she did make a huge effort. Love her for this.

Kanami is very jazz influenced, so you will hear a lot of complex jazz chords in her compositions. Kanami credits Carlos Santana as her guitar muse. BAND-MAID TRIVIA: Kanami Tono is also a classically-trained pianist and has a university degree in economics. She is also pretty much a space cadet; very eccentric (she is also adorable). Her guitar counterpart (and student), Miku is, OTOH, a self-described clumsy person, with more stage falls and trips than anybody in rock music. Miku and Kanami are the two shortest members of the band...at right around 5' and 5'1" respectively...when I met them, I was blown away how tiny Miku and Kanami are...and how amazingly tall (for Japanese women) MISA and Akane are.

IMO they have 5 absolute insane things that makes them one of the best (IMO THE BEST) band right now... 1. It´s their variety of genres they are able to put into one song, there are songs with 3 or more genre changes, pace changes, riff changes and so on, it´s wild. NEVER BORING! 2. No one stands out, everybody is over the top talented on her instrument, has an awesome voice or the power to back everything up. 3. They are really close to each other, they are not just a band, they also hang out with each other and are friends, so they have an very high chemistry with each other. 4. Nothing is fake, they really enjoy what they are doing, they are writing the songs, writing the lyrics, they have FUN and love to serve their fans new songs and they miss to go on tour to see them again. They care a lot about their fans! 5. They are still young and have already made SO MANY songs, you have to look it up, the workrate is INSANE! They always evolving, never stop improving and always wanna get better and it´s not a phrase or to show off, they really do it... Kanami (main songwriter) is ALWAYS thinking about music, i bet she has already another 50 songs in the pocket... Nice you are enjoying them so much, there is a lot to love and a lot discover from this band. Greetings from Germany and you earned a new sub, i always LOVE to learn more about music and especially about Band-Maid, because i am not a musician and have NO IDEA about it. 'Insanely Good' Couldn't have put it better myself. Thanks for coming back to Band Maid. Kanami, lead guitar, is the principle song writer. For 'Blooming', my favourite Band Maid track, there is a fantastic tapping solo with great drum accompiament and Saiki singing so fast like a dragon spitting fire she is almost rapping, please check it out. You should also look at 'Freedom' from the same concert as 'Domination' a great fun song with lots of energy and an Akane drum solo. My favorite hard rock band period, love this song (as well as every single Band-Maid song), they speak to me unlike any other band today. Great reaction as well!

A common thing to forget, when gobsmacked by the incredible individual skills of these women, is the incredible composition involved with all of their songs.

At 12:41, that's what Band Maid gives us, emotion, happiness and a flurry of good things, thank you for reacting to one of the best rock bands today, from Boa Vista - Roraima - Brazil.

Although Band Maid is not something I will listen to often, I have immense respect for their flawless execution, great mood and catchy tunes. Will absolutely go seem them if they come to a country near me.

You can either do 'Freedom' LIVE from the same concert for the drum solo, or do 'Real Existence' for something different, or do 'Rinne' for the heaviest most Metal influenced BAND-MAID of all. There's nothing they can't do. And don't forget the BAND-AIKO videos for something more traditional.

Sorry! Correction: Band Maiko not Band Aiko

Nice reaction, thumbs up. I'd love to see more Band Maid, esp some of their recent YT videos. Here's some older ones I like: Bubble MV - quintessential Band Maid, poppy funky jazzy rock and roll with a chill edge Blooming MV - harder, almost metal, Saiki almost raps, nice figuring taping solo Play live - bit harder, nice instrumental lead-in, in which Misa and her bass are on fire, Akane goes crazy

Good reaction. Amazing band. If you want to react to another amazing band then try LoveBites with Swansong and the piano intro from a Chopin music piece. Thank you for this reaction.

If you like complexity try their music video Blooming.... Love it when a musician takes apart a BAND-MAID song... Helps me asperate them all the more...

Note on the visuals in Japan, Visual Kei is very important culturally in the music, with real roots in things like Kabuki.. Loads of bands and groups from all kinds of genres have a “look”. Much more then you see in the west. Lovebites is another Japanese metal band with loads of talent and a look that is unique to them.

Next analyze DISSENSION (MV)by NEMOPHILA and Glory to the world (MV)by LOVE BITES. These are different types of japanese all female metal band.
