So, it's official: you DO have a crystal ball.👀 Now, tell me what the next Nightwish album is gonna be like! This song must be the most prog thing Tuomas has written. There is a problem with it though - 7 minutes to the Wolves is still too short. Needs to be twice that. If someone managed to part Troy from his bouzouki and give him a trve metal instrument instead, it could give this song some more death metal sound. With a fair amount of imagination and red wine it could then sort of pass as an After Forever song. I'm really stretching it now, but that's probably why it's one of yours, mine and Floor's top favourites. At least half of my favourite Nightwish songs are from Anette era. I would love to hear "Eva" with the Goddess on vocals, but as it is, I like "Eccentric" more.

@TimoArula2 жыл бұрын
This song has a special place in my heart !!! Not just because wolf is Estonian national animal but the windmill battle between Tuomas (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish) and Floor, plus Her inner Wolf ....holy mother of Odin !!! A week ago , I witnessed Floor with Nightwish Live , and this song was on the setlist ,... it was without Marko , but Troy ( play's bouzouki in this ) did a Great job with backing vocals . Even now , when I think about that evening , I get emotional and Happy 🤘🥲🤘. The title is taken from a King's novel called “Wolves of the Calla”. But the conception of the book has nothing to do with the text behind the song, it is far more inspired by the film "Dead Poets' Society". The main idea is - one must live his life the best he can, to strive for his aims, because the wolves are always 7 days behind you and they will catch you if your life is not of full value... and then you will be only dead meat. That's what Tuomas said in one interview some time ago. Howl and thank you 🤘🐺🤘!!! NWSU. And New subscriber !!!

My personal favorite song by them. Was so happy to hear this live when saw them earlier this year. There is so much going on in this song musically from the guitar riffs to the keys to the bouzouki to Kai changing up certain drum patterns in the “boss battle “ segments (double bass goes from trot to gallop to full on cavalry charge) and Floor just kills it both vocally and on stage (30 sec windmill and then right back into huge belt 🤘🤯). Really enjoy your analysis of each song you do.
