Fuki read a story about a jewler in Switzerland who takes ashes and turns them into diamonds. So she came up with the idea for a song about someone whose lover died and they take their ashes and turns them into a diamond to hold their soul until they can be reborn. And will go to any lenghts, fight the fates and kill the gods as many times as it takes to have them returend. So thats what the song is about.

Lots of reversal anaysis available online. They even played around with the lyrics "The first line in Revadac is sung backwards "tnamaiD muz ehcsA red noV", it's the german phrase "Von der Asche zum Diamant", meaning “From the Ashes to Diamonds”.

There actually is a version on their channel which has partial sheet music at the bottom, which makes it easier to see what is going on ("cleverly" titled: [Official MV] Unlucky Morpheus「CADAVER」「REVADAC」+sheet music). I never understood why they didn't just release that one as the original MV as I think it adds a lot, but it is what it is. From what I understand, the melodies are played from right to left (instruments and vocals) for Revadac, but the lyrics and drums are rewritten to fit the song and make it sound good, but I am not a musician so I might be wrong on that (but the sheet music just gets played in reverse in the MV + sheet music). As far as the MV goes, it has backwards and forwards stuff mixed together so it somewhat fits for both runthroughs, they were (probably still are) and independent band so they probably didn't have a huge budget for the MV. Also, talking about Paganini, I am pretty sure I have read violin player Jill is a big fan of Paganini's work.

That would’ve been far too easy though. JW needed a challenge 🤣🤩

@@homegnome2429 Sure, I can see that. It's true that for the type of analysis he brings to the table that giving him the sheetmusic one would have taken away a good portion of that analysis.

The melody of Revadac is the melody of Cadaver in reverse, but they did something different with the rhythm and harmony so that Revadac can still feel like a normal song progressing from beginning to ending. The video is also just played in reverse for the second part (but it has a mix of normal and reversed footage), that is what causes some parts to not match. There are parts where they're just holding chords in one song but playing fast alternate pick notes in the other, the drum parts also change, because even if the melody works both ways, they needed to make the song have a normal progression. There is a official version with sheets: kzbin.info/www/bejne/larVf4WefteYr6c

The second part has much less double kick I noticed, makes it less monotonous IMO. I love double kick, but not constantly through the whole song. But that's just me, if you love that more power to you. :)

It's really amazing to realize how much confusion can be avoided if one was to simply read the first two lines of the video description.

You’re right. Best to just read up on the thing before I watch it. Then I won’t have to provide any thoughts or opinions as I’ll already know what it’s about. Maybe if I read enough about it I’ll not even have to listen to it.

@@JWSoundworks2 Sorry, I was tired when I wrote that and maybe shouldn't have, but...when I listen to a song in a language I do not speak, I try to at least find out what it's about, or if there are any lyrics in the description. While I may listen to the singer as just another instrument in the band, I know they are not belting out random syllables to match the notes. Perhaps you think differently and I can respect that. Sorry again.

@@witherwind2545 you’re entitled to your opinion, no need to apologise. It seemed like you were implying I’m an idiot, which is why I replied. I purposefully don’t research the material before making this kind of video so I can try to use whatever musical knowledge I have to attempt to talk about what I think is going on without having any prior information. I understand that many others like to familiarise themselves with information beforehand, but to me that kind of defeats the point of experiencing something for the first time. It feels like cheating to me. I learn and absorb lyrical content after I’ve already heard something a few times. For that reason I don’t normally touch on the meaning of something on a first time listen. For better or worse I’m trying to experience something new as ignorantly as possible, so I can challenge myself and heighten the element of surprise.
