Great video. One additional step that I added - use silver HVAC tape to line the inside of the map light housing. It creates a reflector surface to direct more light down towards the cabin. Tuck a piece in there before sticking it permanently to make sure you like the result. Kitchen tin foil will also work, but it will fall onto the bulb after a few hundred miles.

Instead of using a screwdriver with a cloth I use a plastic knife and it works great without having to worry about damaging or scratching anything

@@volodymyrnyc2616 the video shows what to do. I used 194 LEDs and wrapped them around the light terminals. Please do it at your own discretion, as I don't want you to damage anything. I can't tell you the brand, as the brand I bought it no longer sold. But Amazon is a good place to look. Check for 194 LED bulbs, and get good quality ones (read the reviews). I assume you already tried the BA9S bulbs, so this is your next bet. Hope this info helps

Correct bulbs for Dome lights BA9S but make sure you buy the non polarized ones. Regular ones don't work. My car is 2020 Infiniti QX 60

Hi Jeff. Here is the required bulbs. I have also just added it to the description for the video, in case you need it for future reference -vanity mirrors - '6614' x2 -front map lights - BA9S (it has worked for some people, but not for me, if it doesn't, you can use a 194 bulb like I used in the video) x2 -front foot well lights - 194 x2 -door jam lights - 194 x2 -passenger dome lights - 194 x2 -trunk light - 3175 x1 total bulbs required 6614 - 2 3175 - 1 Ba9S - 2 (but as mentioned, these may not work) 194 - 6 for sure, 8 if you need them for the front map lights as well. Great video. I must be getting old or something but I switched them out to leds and actually didn't like it. It was too bright with that 6000k white. I went back the soft yellow halogen. Just my personal preference. Hard to believe there is something such as too much light

I tried that where the map lights or (front seat dome lights) are above the center console with Sylvania 194 , and they lit up , then thought i may had heard them flicker out. Before I got them adjusted to a secure and tight position, they bulb burned out. Luckily I got a refund on those set of 2. lol

Thanks for vid, so I installed the dome lights same way as you, however when i tried to get the pin to go around the back, a spark came out and now all the interior lights are not turning on, liftgate, footwell, illuminated kick plates, passenger door lights, dome lights, courtesy doorhandle lights and door puddle lights however all the exterior lights and glove box light are working any solution?

I would start with checking the interior lighting fuse. 9 times out of 10, that is the problem.

Junaid Shaikh no problem. Glad it helped. I didn't actually wrap a pin around it, but actually wrapped the pins of the 194 led itself. If you look at the 194 bulb, it has 2 pins that come out and wraps around the bottom. I just pulled these pins straight (carefully) and then wrapped those around

Junaid Shaikh you would be right there. Those look like very high quality bulbs 194 LEDs, but they won't work unfortunately. AMG Guy it's definitely not the best back up camera for sure. It's not very good with handling low light situations. I did swap out to LED reverse lights which helped a bit, but it's still not great

I never checked, unfortunately. I believe it is not a regular bulb, but an LED soldered in. I am not 100% sure. I made a video a little while ago on upgrading the shift console, where the gear shift bulb is. Thanks for the video. I purchased the LEDs suggested in your links to Amazon. All are working except the BA9/BAS9 map lights. They fit but no lights. I tried the 194 trick and saw some smoke coming out so I put the original back and try to purchase another set of BA9/BAS9 from another seller to see if that helps. I have 2019 QX60

Its weird. That's the exact bulbs I pulled out, and the same LED I put in. And they didn't work. I just tried a different set of BA9S bulbs this year....still didn't work. Some like yourself had the BA9S work, while others did not. I have a theory that some early JX35s had reversed polarities wires into those map lights, and it was changed mid 2013 and have been like that ever since. But I haven't tested that yet. The map light has to be a reverse polarity bulb. I had to find this out by buying multiple bulbs. The correct bulb I should say.

Well on my 2013 the stock is what they call a mini bulb I believe a #67. So I looked up on amazon #67 LED reverse polarity bulb and it works

This is good to know. I will give that bulb a try. My manual did not show a bulb number for that one, and when I pulled the bulb, it only said A12v8wk. Just figured this out myself and was about to post it! After installing the LEDs and them not working, I tested them on a 9V battery, and bingo, discovered that the polarity in the car must be reversed. You need to find a bulb with positive terminal on the side and negative at the tip.

Hello, I was changing my interior light JX35 followed your video. I tried to install a dome LED light that did not fit, it’s a flat looking LED, not round like the one I took out. @@concepcionbenavidez9518 Ok that is a good sign. I know this may seem like a stupid thing to say, but did you double check the switched to make sure it can turn on? It is simple, I know, but sometimes it is the simple things. I just want to cover all bases. The first thing I would do is replace the fuse anyways. I have seen many times where a fuse looked perfectly fine, no issues/burn marks/breaks. I still replaced the fuse and fixed the issue. This has happened on a few cars, so it is very possible. If you have replaced the fuse and the issue persists, disconnect the battery and leave the car for half an hour. Remember to write down any settings that are important (radio, audio settings, etc) as this may completely reset the settings in the car. After 1/2 hr, hook up the battery and check the lights. The idea here is that when the light caused a short, it could have told the BCM that there was an error and it shut off the lights to protect the cars. Disconnecting the battery and hooking it back up can reset that system. Give these 3 things a try, and let me know how it goes.

That's not silly at all. They actually sell LED bulbs that are dimmable. They cost a little more, but they work great.

Hi, my dashboard light isn't on at nighttime I can't see any button I checked all the settings, and side buttons, but I don't know why that light is not working. Do you know if there is a light in there for dashboard buttons for night driving?

I had this happen to me once. Check in the interior fuse box, and there is a breaker switch. It is white, near the middle and sticks out. Pull it out, and wait 10 seconds, and push it back in. It should hopefully reset the dash lights. But be advised, it will reset some other settings, including things like the trip meter.,

@@NexusAuto Now I got another problem on my 2018 QX60 base model My older LCD screen was cracked, so I bought another LCD panel I put the new one in and my LCD was working fine and then this morning I took the new LCD out because my front bezel wasn't aligned properly once I took the new LCD out and then put back everything and since then my LCD is not powering up any more there's no screen no sound nothing, so I thought maybe the new LCD is not good, so I put my old one back and on the old one I'm not getting any power either. There is no display or startup logo. I checked all the cables, two three times, I also unplug AC, and Radio unit and I left just the LCD panel in to see if it works, but nothing. I don't know what causing it I check all the possible fuses and I did not see any of those bad so right now I'm just confused why my LCD screen is not powering up and none of front buttons working like AC, Fan, Radio, if I press eject it will eject the CD out that mean its getting power also I can put vehicle in hazard mode and other than those two buttons none of others aren't working I don't know if someone has any idea or knowledge what could be wrong with it and I will really appreciate it thank you

@@theandroidroot1238 unfortunately, I could not answer that without being there to test it. Funny thing, I would still say to pull the breaker. It may reset the system (again, it will reset all your general settings as well). Otherwise, I can only say to remove the LCD screen and make sure there is not a bent connector pin or anything like that. I have not removed the screen, so I am not sure what the connector looks like, but checking it would be where I would have started. Can you put on the things like the radio? Do you get audio, just no screen picture?

@@NexusAuto for night driving light there was a 5amp fuse blown by driver's side fuse box I found that one and replaced it now night driving lights are on but still no display, also I found that I can't lock, unlock driver's door with FOB as I could earlier. There has to be a relay or fuse for all, which I couldn't find it, since I checked all of them manually. I took the battery off for the whole night as it was suggested online.

Hello, sorry for the late reply. Before moving forward with anything else, I want to make sure the right fuse is checked. It is the top right fuse in the interior fuse box, called 'room'. If you havent got the issue fix already, check this fuse and try one a replacement one, just in case.

Thanks for that , i went back the next day and figured it out . It was weird that interior lights would be called "room lamps" but i got it changed , it was the upper right red 10A fuse. I have since ordered some new LED's that are compatible with my 2018 QX60. Keep up the great work with the videos

Just finished doing the backup lights and license plate LED bulbs upgrade, work perfectly. I was upgrading the interior lights, did the trunk, middle seats and got stuck with the dome lights: got a LED upgrade pack from Amazon, but the dome lights are a 2 piece set that connects in order for them to work. My issue now is that I removed the OEM lights and was trying to fit the new ones and it was impossible to twist the pins to make them fit securely and now my interior lights won't work even after reinstalling the OEM bulbs...any ideas??

That does suck. It is strange, trying to work on those interior lights...especially the dome. Even I had to use a workaround to make the bulb work. I think the fuse may have blown. The positive and negative may have come into contact, and popped the fuse. i would check that first. Let me know how it goes.

There is a specific button on the roof console that allows the lights to come on and off when the door is open. If you go to 5:49 on the video, you will see it. It is a light button with the car door open. Make sure that the button is not pressed, if I remember correctly. Try the button and see if that fixes the issue.

Check the interior fuse. Sounds like 2 contacts touched and could have blown a fuse. I would start there first.

Absolutely. I noted that bulb in my description. For whatever reason, when I installed the BA9S bulb, it wouldn't even work. Tried a few and no luck, but when I bench tested the bulbs they were fine. Really annoying lol. Thanks for the link. I do want the proper bulb in there
