To increase the Force on the other side the area should be halved (load end) instead of being doubled. F/A= F/A or F= PA . In the most practical use of a day's life, if you want to make your hose water to sprinkle / shoot further, cover half the area of the hose end with your finger, the pressure will increase resulting the water shooting further. ( increase in pressure /psi)

It is not clear how the hydraulic fluid returns from one of the two chambers to the reservoir through the return line. Shouldn't the return line be connected to the selector valve? In this case the selector valve also needs to have four ports: two of them each going to the actuator chambers and two of them going to the reservoir ( one pressure line, one return line). In the simulation it seems the return line is connected to the actuator chambers. In the position shown, it seems the hydraulic circuit is being 'short circuited' ? and the pressure will drop and the actuator will not move. Can any one explain?
@JxJAVIATION2 жыл бұрын
The thumbnail architecture for the Hydraulic System is accurate, but the image in the video is not. As you mentioned the actuator will not move as per the shown architecture in the video. Realized it after creating and uploading the video. Apologies for that! But the description is accurate. Hope it helps!

Just one comment, as your presentation is a pretty simple generic example of a system. Pumps do not produce pressure, pumps supply flow. Restriction to flow results in pressure. This is why we need components such as accumulators. This can be visualized by a garden hose. When the hose is unrestricted there is no pressure in the hose, ignoring friction. Put your thumb over the end of the hose and pressure rises in the hose due to the restriction. Now we need a pressure relief valve. PRV's send un-needed fluid back to the reservoir to control max pressure, no PRV and the pump could stall, break a shaft or we would blow out components. Variable displacement pumps can be used in lieu of a PRV.
