Omg the beauty of JOSEON sunscreen is the best. It’s less greasy looking on my skin. It takes a good 20-30 min to dry down definitely not gonna look as glowy as it makes you look at first when you put it on. I never was able to wear sunscreen until I found out about Korean sunscreens and tried them. The america ones burn my face and eyes like crazyyyy I cannot handle it. These Korean chemical sunscreens are BEYOND perfect!

Oh same. I tried western drug store sunscreens like Neutrogena, Cetaphil etc which were manufactured in US and i felt burning sensation. Maybe it doesn't suit my asian skin. Tried alot of new local brands cause they're cheaper but they're eh.. Korean sunscreens are the only option left now even though they're a lil pit pricier but I've wasted alot more money on experimenting cheaper sunscreens. I wish Japan would start marketing their skincare internationally and make it more accessible.

I agree 100% This sunscreen makes it easier for me to wear sunscreen every day. I don't need an extra moisturizer with it as my skin can lean to the oily side of normal. After it dries the glow is nice and it feels nice and light. So happy I took a chance on it!

I am from Korea and this video is very interesting for me because both are not that popular or common in Korea actually. I think there are some products targeting international comsumers and these are like that. So I can’t say these product can present “Korean products”. But anyway, I really enjoyed watching this video and loved your opinion for the products. Maybe I should try them next time!! Hope you have a chance to try some other Korean products which are used by many Koreans in real! Just in case, here’s a company list popular in Korea for sunscreens; Round Lab, Dr.G, Cell Fusion C, Dr. Jart+

As an American who’s into Korean cosmetics, this is something I’ve noticed as well. What Western retailers say is popular in Korea and what I see in the top rankings on Hwahae and Glowpick are very different. A Korean brand that I use called Purito has barely any reviews from Korean consumers compared to the thousands from Western consumers.

Depending on the country or culture, beauty standards change. In Asia, the glowy effect or glass skin prevails, but not necessarily in Europe or America. As an example, I am currently in Brazil where 99% of the products have a mattifying approach, oil control, since due to the climate, most people here have combination or oily skin and culturally they do not like to have a glowy face. And the most famous brands in the world are present, but with a different approach. That is why perhaps the best-selling Korean brands in Korea are not necessarily the best-selling brands outside of Korea, or in the West.

@chickennerd2085
@chickennerd2085 Жыл бұрын
@@dazriper yeah, the beauty standard is different. I've noticed that the best-selling sunscreen products in Korea are mostly has the 'tone-up' effect. (which is like a white cast). I've watched some of the Korean beauty influencer who mostly their audience are Korean, and when they recommended a sunscreen, it often has that 'tone-up' effect. They didn't want to have that much foundation in their face, but they want that freshly bright tone, so they use tone-up sunscreen. On the other hand, most international audience, prefer products with no white cast.

I am currently using the sunscreen from Beauty of Joseon and I am loving it. It doesn't feel greasy and has right amount of hydration for me as I live in a humid country. I noticed that I sweat less compare to my previous sunscreen. As it feels good on the skin that's why it became easy for me to reapply every two hours whenever I am out in the sun which used to be a challenge for me. It's a really good option for reapplying sunscreen. It disappears into the skin. It's true that it has a weird scent to it which I don't like but still I am gonna buy it again. It has so many pros and I am enjoying this sunscreen. I even applied on the skin around my eyes and it doesn't strings my eyes at all. I also noticed that it helps claming down my skin if my face feels hot since I live in a hot and humid country. I guess it's because of rice extract.

I live somewhere humid and hot, the Isntree sunscreen feels very hydrating and leaves a dewy sheen on me. It’s my new favourite! A caveat is that I have normal-combi skin that is sometimes dehydrated due to tretinoin use. I can see why some people with oilier skin type may not enjoy this, esp if they’re looking for a matte not-there finish.

I love Isntree sun gel!! I would say I fall in love with this sun gel. it's one of my favorite sunscreen in the world. I also tried BOJ, it’s a bit heavier for me but isntree sun gel is sooo light, moisturizing, fresh, and the texture is like lotion so smooth with healthy ingredients:) As I have very sensitive skin I am so picky for ingredienrts, and my go to sunscreen was isntree sun gel!!! that’s why i recommend this sun gel to my friends and family. My brother and Bf also love isntree one! guys.. it’s time to get it lol

for people just starting out with using retinoids and now have dry skin, I highly recommend using the skin 1004 centella Hyalu-cica moisturizing sunscreen! I got it because it was something new, and I love it! I don’t peel around my mouth or nose when I wear it! Ever since I started using a retinoid, I’d moisturize pretty well, but I’d go outside and realize my face is peeling in the middle of the day when I’m out and about 😂 so this sunscreen helps lock in extra moisture!

For these sunscreen wars, I wish they would have someone with a darker complexion test them out too. The way sunscreens apply and look on different skin tones matter a lot at least to many of us.

I agree. I’ve been using the Isntre and there is no cast on my brown skin. It looks oily at first but ok after a while. I’ve been applying after moisturizer but after watching this I will try using it instead of moisturizer.

@@msf8297 I disagree. For example, most mineral sunscreens make us look like we are wearing a white clay mask. Or do you think they are only “here to educate” white people?

I live and work outside in Georgia, USA. Because of humidity, my sunscreen has to work extra hard. I use a mineral sunscreen stick and layer with Elta MD 44. I apply a mineral powder spf throughout the day. It would be very helpful if y’all could speak to sunscreens’ staying power in future “war” videos. Thanks!

I'm 66 yrs old & on a mission for a great sunscreen for over 20yrs, Isntree is my Holy Grail, but I have extremely dry skin, I've been on it for a year! Mission complete. Would not recommend for oily skin, it's dewy & a bit glowy, but I love it.

I absolutely love Korean skincare! the only thing I get at the drugstore now is my gel lotion when I don't feel like waiting for shipping. The Trader Joe's clear sunscreen and SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica water fit sunscreen have been my 2 go to one's for everyday wear. Both are great for my super sensitive skin which is oily/combo (and possibly have some form of rosacea) I'd love to see the SKIN1004 line compared to another brand, I'm not sure what is comparable, but it'd be nice to have options. I usually shop Stylevana by whatever is under $15 as I can't afford much.

Just started watching your content and really love that you are not promoting your own expensive skin care products and compare high end products with equivalent cost effective products. I have purchased several products you recommend and have been very happy. Can you do a series or video on Collagen products? There seems to be a lot of hype on oral collagen. Is it really worth it..or do the stomach enzymes destroy them leaving them ineffective?
