The way he treated me, the late night phone calls, making up our own language so nobody understood what we were saying...The silly little messages while he worked 12 hour shifts, the unlimited " i love you" reminders, the way i'd get so excited talking about you and telling everyone how funny and great you are. The way we just understood each other from the moment we met (9 years ago). It's also the way the sound of his voice stains the walls of my old room where we'd talk all night in bed and i cannot help but repeat it over and over again. Everytime i hear this song, i can't help but cry. His name sounds just like "Kristen" so everytime i hear this, i feel like im singing it to him. It's going on 2 years since he passed away unexpectedly and all I have now are memories, pictures and the messages we've sent the past years. I really think its Impossible to understand this song if you never been in love with someone. This is pure emotion, it's heartbreakingly beautiful. Its what you feel when you miss someone so much, that you would do anything you could, to bring back again that person, but unfortunally you cant. You almost can feel the torture in your heart, that feeling of preasure in your chest and throat. Then comes the tears, like a river that washes your face but at the same time aliviates your soul. There's nothing like this kind of pain that consumes you by nostalgia and sadness. That's way more painfull than physical pain. But then with time the sands will settle, and you will reemerge and start beathing again.

this is so true. tysm for it. i just went through a breakup w someone i thought i loved, and ive struggled with depression and social anxiety my whole life. i was never happy with who i was. i struggled with bulimia, cutting myself, and have attempted to end it a few times in the past. just recently ive begun to learn to embrace who i am, to love myself and to be unapologetic and bold. my ex was so angry. he liked me when i was submissive, obedient. he wanted to change me to become someone else, someone he would supposedly "love more". i was like a project to him, and when i started to embrace myself, i was destroying all the progress he had made in the past year of dating me. he never loved me. he loved the person he thought i could become, for him. i wasn't about to go back on what i had started for him, so i ended things. now that we're over, i dont have to fulfill anyone else's expectations; i don't have to answer to anyone. and i can begin to love myself, unconditionally. it may not sound like a big accomplishment, but about a week ago i went out with my friends in public without any makeup on. i haven't done that in years. i felt so free. i am so free. thank u for this, it really opened up my eyes. i've been feeling more emotion now, when i'm single, than i ever did in that relationship. i feel so fulfilled; im happier right now than i ever was with him. and i know why now. thanks again

@Yeahme hahme it feels like you're calling me selfish. and at the time i got into that relationship i did want to love someone else. i don't need the concept of relationships explained to me. we tried really hard to stay together, we even took breaks to work on ourselves and our behavior towards each other but he wouldn't cooperate. i felt like i was the only one trying. in a relationship, you have to be selfish to a degree in order to be able to know what is and isn't good for you. when i was in that relationship, i was completely selfless and i loved him, but i didn't love myself and i didn't act on any red flags. that's why i'm focusing on myself now, don't you dare comment "smh" in response to me learning to embrace myself. self-love has been very hard to come by for me personally, so don't treat it like it's a selfish thing. nobody can really be completely happy if they're not happy with themselves.
