Great story Harry, it is easy to forget that stars are people too and can have bad days. I photographed KD Lang on two consecutive nights for Sony in the early 2000's at the Opera house in Sydney. I had just witnessed an amazing show that she did with Tony Bennett and was looking forward to meeting her, much to my disappointment she was rude and abrupt. The next night she came up to me and said I am sorry if I was rude last night I was feeling really unwell, would you like a photograph with me ? I remember that if I encounter anyone being a little difficult in front of the camera.

Very interesting, sounds like quite a similar interaction! I heard in her later years she mellowed out from some big fans of k.d. Maybe Harry and yourself just caught her at a bad time. Thanks for the great comment!

Hi ! I'm a french kd fan. (But I went into others hobbies for nearly 13 years !)-- Now I rediscover her music & discover new songs & videos, here. So, I've remarked that this year 1997, was a very busy one for her; An Australian tour, (with a great video of one of the Sidney concerts, where she had an incredible energy, dancing, jumping !) the release & promo of her album 'Drag', a trip to Japan, The Wembley Charity concert in summer...with all the preparations of these events & probably others ones I don't know ! So, she could be Tired at some moments...

I was fortunate to meet David Bailey once. I asked him how he handled people that didn't want to be photographed. He said there were times when he just took one or two frames and then thanked them for their time! Legend...

​​@@fredandharryborden Thankfully no. She mellowed out a lot. She admitted in 2016 that fame got to her and she had her moments of being a diva and in her words, an a-hole. I've met and worked with her many times and she was always warm, sweet and kind, thankfully.
