Looks like you might have gotten a bum head on that one. I have the BH-28L and it definitely doesn't come off even with loosening that knob as far as it will go. Also, I don't know if you said which head is on there, but on the BH-28L the adjustment lever will pull straight out so that you can adjust position without actually tightening or loosening. This will help in situations when the plate is in the way. I was looking for a small travel tripod earlier this year and ordered several from Amazon to see what would actually work. I was really hoping that the K&F would be the winner, but for the models I tried it just wasn't up to what I needed. I'm still keeping them on my short list when I need something a little bigger as I know that the really low in ones are hard to find quality no matter what brand. Thanks for your feedback Craig. I think I may have got a duff head. The lever pulls out but rotates very roughly so isn't properly functioning and the rotation knob has got worse over time so may be worn (even though I seldom use it). Which tripod did you end up with?

The one I got is branded as Cavix, model AT2542. Again, it's just a small travel style, which will get minimal use from me, probably, but seems pretty sturdy. It fit the bill for what I was looking for at the time.

I bought this but sent it back immediately. Cheap materials. Stupid ball head and it doesn't even let me attach my osmo pocket 3! The leg came out and some plastic thing attached to it inside came off. They did a massive marketing campaign for this tripod, sending it to loads of youtubers but ultimately, its not very good.

I ended up getting the benro tortoise and am so happy with that. It’s leagues above this tripod and so was a purchase I wish I’d not made (it wasn’t a freebie for me)

Built to a price. Centre column,No thank you.The photography circles I inhabit we call the centre column’’the blur maker’’ If your on a budget ,well yes buy it. It amazes me that people spend thousands of dollars on a camera and lens only to use a cheap tripod because basically it’s exactly what it is. People save your money and buy a good quality tripod,without a centre column. Thanks for your video.

I agree about the centre column. It’s something I never use except to reach through something (like the fence at the waterfall). It does introduce too much instability. When I research my next tripod, I will be picking one without the centre column in all likelihood

I just got their 3 way geared head and there’s play in it. Garbage.

I’ve heard a lot of bad reports on the k&f geared heads. I use the Benro geared head and it is solid and excellent (I’ve edited my original message as I thought you meant your Benro head was loose in my original message 🤦)

@@sugarcell I watched a review of the head recently where the guy basically swore for 2 minutes swore at the head before losing the plot with it 😂😂
