In 1983 I was at one of my schools and saw KITT chasing a Gremlin. The Gremlin made a quick right turn and them a quick left into an alley. the front wheel on the Gremlin folded under. That is what stuck with me about that. They were filming a scene for one of the episodes of the show.

Absolutely love third gen f bodies! I’ve owned four IROCs over the years beginning in 1986. The Crossfire system was problematic but when it was setup correctly it worked well. These cars handle extremely well all they lack is an engine swap to complete them. Great video

Very Cool, reminds me of my old '82 Firebird which even had the same wheels and caps...but my 305 had an electronic Quadrajet carb on it and so it wasn't as easy on the gas pump... especially when I put my foot into it !

@@kiwiclassicsandcustoms9160 I got it wrong actually...The 1982 LU5 engine was rated at 165 HP with 8.6:1 compression and the 1983 version is listed as 175 HP and 9.5:1 compression. With headers, she'll be a nice car to meander in. 🥝✔️🇺🇸

When the 82 trans am came out it was supposed to have the 301 turbo but they discontinued it in 81. That’s why it had the aesymmetrical scoop

AKi in North America is (RON+MON/2). Down in the Southern Hemisphere it is 5 higher in Australia and New Zealand . Your AKi 87= or RON 91, Your 93= our 98, and your 94 or 95 Hi Test is 100 when we can get it. Actually, the 1983 cars had a Manufacturer minimum advised Research Rating of 89, so you can get by on 83 Standard gas. When oxygenated gas hit town in California, the pump ratings changed to AKi.

I left there 40 years ago when I knew lange was getting elected .I knew the guy . I ran a work shop for a while before working as a sawmill engineer .While I was doing WOF's I got to check so damned old cars ,Model A's etc which were still OK because of the 6 month inspections. 😁😁 A mate from here in Brisbane took his own car to the USA when he went there on holiday ,A Ford Falcon XB Coupe LOL!. The Cross fire is like the old style holley projection.

They having big testing stations that have multiple lanes running 6 days a week. Also quite few repair shops are able to do the safety inspections as well. The repair shops are closely monitored for the quality of inspections
