Monster Kody opens up with a freestyle rap only to be surprised when Joe Rocc Head from Santana Blocc Compton Crips and my partner Baby Smac walk in unexpectedly. Monster recalls the 1992 rebellion and Leon Bing's book "Do Or Die" in 1991 as well as his own book written in 1993. According to Mr. Rocc Head he hadn't seen Monster Kody Scott since 1983 and hadn't seen Og Cutes since 1980. These are three of the more talked about crips in California prison during the 1980s. Cutes and Monster have no idea they are about to see their old friend from prison, Rocc Head.

Monster Kody seeing the BIG PICTURE of becoming a writer “I just got 7 years for a $40 robbery and you’re giving me $10,000 for a 25 page essay”

The two go hand-in-hand. People buy true-crime books a lot but he wouldn't have credibility or made as much money if caught lying. So one lifestyle eventually fed the other. Average writer hardly makes a decent living. Many books don't turn much of a profit at all.

@@damienholland8103 this. then you gotta think about what it means for writing to be predominantly done by people in a position to dedicate tons of unpaid time and hard work to something with basically no return. you said it, the vast majority of books published by big publishers barely sell, certainly not enough to break even...Monster beat the odds because his story was so powerful. the best investigative journalists we have, doing deep research and uncovering corruption and systemic issues and conspiracies, make jack shit. meanwhile New York Times op-ed writers pull down $200K a year to write bullshit pieces meant to drive public opinion for the upper middle class. gotta love it. the crazy part about it is that in this day and age Monster could've made a great lane as a podcaster or youtuber, but if he tried to write he probably couldn't make a career of it.

I'm from Strong IslandNY and this interview and Monster's fire ass freestyle in the beginning had me feeling like I was in South Central LA. Monster needs to write more books because he is a walking encloypedia when it comes to the gang history and the African American struggle. This dude swag and energy is infectious. I always said NY and Cali cats had the illest swag that's why both states spit out the best lyrist during the Golden Era of Hip Hop..Salute to Kev Mac who is in his bag with these fire ass interviews and sit downs with OG s who are hated by some but loved by many. God Bless all three who are blessed to survive the madness. .

Instant classic. That Joe Rock head and Monster embrace with the Crip whistle was on point 👍.The Monster overstanding of protocol of order on that G shit breakdown was classic. But the MOST important part was the clarification with ALL THREE stated majority of the gangs were gangs before B's & C's. To the surprise to some OT there were gangs before them that morphed it the sets / gangs you see today.

Everybody knows that. Just like everybody knows that the bloods are a combination of separate gangs fighting against the crips at this point it’s pretty much common knowledge who out of town doesn’t know or you just expect us not to know?

EVEN when the truth is out here and Cali REPUTABLES are cleaning up that bull shit I new it was false as well as others decades ago just traveling or knowing both GANG cultures. But it's hard for a lot of unsanctioned/ made up B's & C's to let go when many lives have been lost under falsification that you poured your blood sweat in tears into. The acronym was given a definition in 1973 in the OG C.R.I.P. constitution. The P actually meant PARTY clearly in reference to the Black Panther Party. The R was defined as 'Reform' in the document but Revoution was a hidden understanding amongst the original drafters. The document was sanctioned by Raymond Washington while in Tracy. Raymond was developing 'consciousness and was convinced the set needed to be defined. The homeys on the streets were dealing with Mayor Bradley on gang peace agenda, jobs and youth outreach. They were trying to make positive change. There were always revolutionary type CRIPS but they were just too young to be official Panthers. When 16 year old Bobby Hutton was killed by the Oakland PD Huey made it a rule to be 18 to join. Thus, all militant youths were unofficial "baby panthers" from that point. This was before CRIP started in 1969. Most of the OG eastside CRIPS knew Bunchy Carter and his lil brother Kenny was contemporary of Raymond and them. Craig Craddock was militant and Panther influenced and so was a Crip now known as 'lil Bunchy', and Blackey, who was a top ranked general who helped draft the Crip constitution in 73. Just like Monster is revolutionary but not all 8Trays are. Crips have always had revolutionary and militant minds within the leadership structure.

this was a beautiful energy my brother. y'all skinned a buffalo and called out THE WOLVES fa real!! the smiles that JoeRoccHead and MonsterKody wore were priceless. RockHead looked like a bad ass 4th grader waitin on the bell to ring. i remember most of what they spoke on.. not because i was out bangin', but because due to how many (not just at school either) #8Trays + #R6ixxTs 'lived on and around' my street. it was commonplace for many of the hardcore ones to touch my block on the regular - most were coming to tap-in or re-up with OGDrake aka BigFEE, who lived 4-5 houses to the north. Plus LilFee and BabyFee [aka TyQuon and DemonTrê] half block south, same street tho... they all became Rollin's. ✈ now, on the same street we had LilChino (2&3), FatEric, LowDown and 1 block east ... (then my best friend, who was viciously gunned down and..- killed at 14), BabyCaveman aka Rodney - all, well known ETGs. i still remember how sad and confused i was when they ALL started beefin' .. due to the rapidly escalating war + not socializing - vowing to kill each other, all the time giving bus passes to each other. my street was fun back when everyone was united under WS CRIP. #MonsterKody #OGCutes #JoeRoccHead #damgoodjobKMV ✈ ps: why was there no "MELLE.ion DOLLA" Questions ?? #mellemel
