Two days back I bought K&N Air filter for my Royal Enfield Himalayan and believe me guys the performance of the bike has suddenly increase the pick up of my bike is way better than it was before also I don't feel any vibrations from my bike any more the throttle response is good and my bike feel more linear now.

Hello Brother Omkar, Saw Vilas Ramchalla's blog on k & N filter. He says that only a free flow k & N Air Filter after remapping or rejetting would increase the performance otherwise a simple k & N Air Filter would just work like a normal air filter without increasing the performance. Is it true? Your observations please.

no need to rejet due to using stock air box but an AFR retune is needed for best results so it dont run lean at full throttle

You really should oil it from the beginning. All K&N filters will actually allow finer particulates through than a standard paper filter if not oiled. The fine dust here in the Australian bush is actually similar to that in Leh Ladakh, incredibly fine stuff. Oil up brother, asap. Peace!

I didn't oiled filter before installing since it was new and yes you can easily cleaned it using k&N filter cleaning kit

The air intake of the filter is from the factory set in the wrong position because with rain the rear wheel expels water to the air intake and water enters to the air filter. Can't change position?

Once u install it on ur efi hima just start ur bike and keep it to idle for 15 min. This will automatically calibrate ur efi to new way of free air flow. And take good 8-10 kms ride without revving ur bike. It's very important that u should not rev the bike.

you metric for comparing the quality of the filters was quite inappropriate. for instance the stock one comes with an additional steel mesh to maintin the shape of the filter pads. also on what grounds did you classify/testify that the stock one is made of paper and the kn is make of cotton fibre ? should the filter even be made of cotton fibre ? just because its kn dosent mean that it will win on all grounds. be a more practical reviewer please. also please do more research. it would we very helpful if you could tell the impact of this filter change on the motorcycle health.

Mileage won't be affected as far as u set carb properly and since this is replacment filter size will be almost same. So der is no effect on milage so far on my bike
