Well if you clean it regularly like after ea trip to the desert then maybe it wouldn't look as bad as yours , I highly doubt you ever cleaned it once Also yes those K&N Dry Charger filter socks do work

My friend had a Pontiac Firebird with a K&N air filter. Clean and oil it regularly and you'll have an easy breathing engine without dirt in it.

my 08 I had a stage 3 velocity intake with k & n air filter with outerwear on my bike 2 years never one issue on my quad. cleaned every 2 weeks and produces better performance than junk foam

Personally I think the filter is way past it’s service interval...and somewhere from the filter to the carb wasn’t completely right there is enough dirt to say there was no filter 😂 I’ve used k&n filters on every dirt bike-quad-car-truck I’ve owned in the last 18-20 years and never saw that much dirt in any of them

Uni ain’t bad but k&n ain’t bad either I’ve an both on my 400ex what I do is we’re the neck gos on to be tighten I put a thin layer of grease on it and and every oil change I do to my 400ex I clean my air filter if you wait to long air filter will get clogged and start sucking in air from different places that why you put a thin layer of grease on the neck of the air filter

They are junk. And it takes 3 days to clean it... Clean dry re oil re oil again of it didn't saturate right. Blow out if to much oil. Oil on maf has to get cleaned.

This lines up with the testing I just seen, link below. I'm moving away from K&N, just too much debris gets through. Amsoil air filters were the best cleanable filter media that I've seen from researching. Going with a Uni air filter now since Amsoil doesn't have one for my ATV. are you riding often in a dirty place? if yes than K&N Filter is not for you, if you riding in a clean place there should be not any problem with K&N Filter, as i used for many years, not a single problem because i am living in a very clean country

Silas McCarty Typically filtering efficiency goes UP with it being dirtier. Obviously flow is more restricted however.

Your perfectly correct..they are trash..they dont Clean shit. I removed mine on my Honda..and just purchased a paper one...it actually increased better gas mileage 🤗
