Just installed mine using this as a guide! I love how you lost focus and step by step as the baby came out, lol. True dad there. 1. Because KN punches holes in the heat shielding I laid them vertically. 2. If you leave bolts loose-ish you can adjust the fitment. 3. Everyone, not a single phone will pick up the noise this thing makes in real life. I was cackling laughing doing pulls around my neighborhood. It’s that good.

Hey Cam, just a heads up, enjoy what you have now, cherish each moment, im 40 and had kids early, met my wife and she had 2 kids already, had 3 more kids with her, now they are all grown up, 21, 20, 18, 17 and 12, Im also a grandfather. honestly, time went by so quick. A word of advise for both of you, take pictures, videos when they are young, one day you can look back at it all and say, you were just babies yesterday. take care Viv and Cam and baby Elli. keep doing what you are doing. she is so cute. have fun being parents.

Another video from a tuner did a dyno run with this K&N induction kit, it added horse power up higher, didn’t heat soak as its a sealed box using the hood or bonnet from where I come from, as a sealed lid, the air to fuel mix was spot on without a tune, the only worry for me is the oil gumming up the MAF sensor, but I would use a much lighter coating of oil on the gauze cone filter if I fitted one, great video dude 👍🏻

@@IAmTheHomeDepot I had a 2016 Scion FRS…. I put about 130,000 miles on it… starter finally started having issues. Oil seeping not from the front timing cover but at a junction of multiple engine parts where they RTV it together practically so that couldn’t be fixed without dissembling. Had replaced the rear axles due to the annoying click that was happening. But honestly loved the car and miss it. I went and test drove this Porsche cayman 718 and fell in love with having actual power compared to the FRS. But hands down the FRS was the better handling car(had coilovers and 17x9 RPF1s with 245s all around).

@@IAmTheHomeDepot also, no engine probs whatsoever but then again I changed the oil every 3k miles. I drove on I-45 and beltway 8 like a race car and the car held fine even after all the mileage and years of fun(acquired car Nov 15, 2015).

I ended up getting rid of mine because, for me, the normal seeky-idle became more dramatic. Instead of the ~100rpm stumble, it was like 2-250rpm - AC off. With the AC on it swung like 500. Sounded amazing otherwise. No CEL. Butt dyno said there was something different going on. Wondering if you're experiencing the same behavior post install.

@@Camhill182 I don't thing it was the oil. I swapped out the k&n for a AEM filter and cleaned the MAF for science. I'm pretty sure it has to do with how the air is moving through the tube. The MAF seems really sensitive. I accidentally ran with a misaligned airbox for a few minutes and it threw a CEL (for the same reason the MST throws one untuned.) The air seems like it's sorta bouncing around in the intake tube, passing back and forth past the MAF, and causes those stumbles. This is all a big SWAG, though. I haven't tried any post MAF tube/resonator deletes to test my theory, though. Trying to get my hands on another factory intake box just to give it a whirl.

And no, he was never overly reckless in residential areas. His video he was doing pulls in was on a non-resident industrial road at 1am.

the way you put the rubber around the circular bit makes me wonder if that was something I was supposed to do back when I had a K&N for my 2.0T Accord. I returned it because there was a section of the intake that didn't seal around a pipe in the engine and that is probably why. I don't remember seeing that in the instructions though.

Any component specially in Subaru engines needs a tune you will need a tune cause of the air will flow higher and the factory tube will not like that you will encounter problems with your engine bro. You will need a pro tune or a access port regular tune

I'm not sure. it has some heat shielding on the box, and also it pulls in air from the front bumper, not the engine bay
