Two things to know about body shops: 1. the person you interact with is NOT going to be the one doing the actual work. Your point of contact is usually the owner of the body shop or some intermediary salesperson who will sweet talk you into a false sense of security. 2. Regardless of how much you are told that the shop is all about the quality work, they are not. Especially if the shop is a bigger franchise. The bigger the shop, the worse the quality because those guys make their money on the volume and speed. Big shops have big overheads for running the business and so for them, it becomes the numbers game. They'll throw your car together as fast as they can and send you on your way to make room for the next one. Kind of similar to how hospitals operate. This is the reason why no one ever wants to buy a car that's been in an accident. Because everyone knows how shitty body shops are. They never take the time to put the car back to how it was from the factory. Consider yourself lucky that the only thing they've missed was a small light in the door sill.

This would be normal on a base model (which has no light) but even the base model comes with the wires down there, they shouldn’t be unplugged on his limited.

It's always a good feeling when you find good mechanics that care they're into cars for the love of it which expands to their customers. I can't even go to my local honda shop they tried on 3 separate occasions to completely ruin my 10th gen si so now im on the lookout for a shop like this

Glad to see you got the Type R all squared away, sucks that the BRZ has an issue now. But I’ve come to realize that’s cars, if it ain’t one thing it’s another 😂. My G8 is down rn due to my radiator fan motors pooping the bed causing the car to overheat so I relate to your pain bro.

Hey Cameron, just watched the vid, I’m a fairly new tech working for ford. From what I know the only thing that could cause those done lights to do that is high resistance. Meaning the current has something in its path that’s taking away from going to the bulb causing them to be dim. It’s hard to say without a wiring diagram but my guess is that both of those bulbs have share a wire or connector somewhere in the car and it was torn either in the crash or at the body shop. You are getting some current to the bulbs so it’s not completely open. But I could be wrong like I said fairly new tech 🤷‍♂️

Well said. Electrical stuff is VERY tricky sometimes. I had a maxima that would turn the radio off & windshield wipers off out of nowhere for no reason. Sold that right away.

A couple of observations: 1- that’s definitely a USAF mustache 2- you are going to have to find new non-swear words in front of Elena 3- glad you got your tires fixed, and hearing about the process is my equivalent of Schitt’s Creek folding in the cheese 4- Ellie is perfect and her Lolli thanks all of the viewers watching out for her in this video 🌺

Check for moisture as well… heavy rain cause my GT86 to have failure with a passenger airbag light. Techs found moisture. Just check around since you are in a temperate climate just in case.

Pull that door card off and verify that wiring is there and all grounds if any are attached. For the done lights, you may have to adjust the connector contacts to provide a tighter fit The led bulb base might be slightly different causing the loose fit. I’m not sure if they had to remove that liner/map light housing for anything during the repair but definitely check grounds

I’ll have to try this with mines too. Did some splice work that didn’t bare fruit and now my LED replacements do the same thing. Could be the wrong voltage on the lights or what you said cuz I did stick my fingers in there a lot. Can’t imagine anything else, but I should check I didn’t miss a frayed wire.

Cam, run the car back to Caliber, they absolutely should fix anything they touched. If they had the headliner our for the quarter repair which is likely then the wiring could easily be pinched or loose at a connection point. The door light, the tech forgot to plug it up. Make them fix it, with the car being apart for so long at the shop its not surprising they missed something, but it should’ve been caught during the QC check

I had the same problem with my 2023 BRZ play with it a little and it should fix it the connections are trash and it’s something Subaru needs to put a recall out on. Good luck brother. (If it doesn’t work take it to Subaru) as for the door lights mine also do not work…..

Always take any car with a warranty back to the dealership. Get any issue documented even if they can’t replicate the problem. That way, if anything happens in the future or out of warranty you can get things taken care of out of warranty if it still persists. Your dealership may not honor it at first, but that’s when you call corporate to open a case. They follow up with the dealership to make sure proper protocol is being followed. Regarding accident repairs, a Toyota/Subaru collision center would’ve been the way to go. Edit: If the shop who initially repaired it can’t make it right, take it to the dealership and if warranty won’t cover it, make the shop and dealership work it out with insurance.

Dude. Caliber screwed my car up too. They never put the top intercooler mounts back in. Marco is the man but I won’t let anyone else at that shop touch my car.

Ahhh Calliber Collision.. I had my 20 Si Repaired by them as well and they did a fairly good job but I had to fix issues by them. They replaced a tire with the wrong size and the red belt buckles were underneath the bucketseat in the rear that were never pulled back up so, small minimal things but annoying to deal with. Some collision centers always miss something.

I had to take my car back because my spoiler won’t lift if you push on it. Fixed with Chevy clips lol.

I know this is 9 months late but sometimes LED's can be dim from the start, Switch the dim one with the bright one to rule out a problem withe the LED.

I always say a car is never the same after an accident. I would fix my car & sell it asap if I was in an accident. Weird things happen after cars are hit. I don't care what anyone tells you, Honda couldn't even fix a car to be "new" again after an accident. Sorry to hear all the trouble you're dealing with. The place that "fixed" the car should warranty their work.

I’d say your drivers door courtesy light wire is tucked up in there somewhere. Prob just forgot to plug it in when they put it back together.

Same happened to me Cameron, someone hit my BRZ a few months ago, my vanity mirror broke off and when I got my car from the collision center, the dome lights were out and my car constantly said the trunk was open when it wasn’t. It turned out the fuse had went out, I ended up trading it in for the new integra type S

@@Camhill182 I did aside from the vanity mirror since there was only one in stock in all of the US but there definitely shouldn’t have had any issues like that on a car that was only a year old but my Subaru dealership was happy to help with what they could

I know what you're going thru. My brand new IS350 was hit last year in the rear right quarter panel and they didn't steal it and water filled the trunk during the winter storms we had in Sacramento. I'm having issues with the stereo now sometimes there's no sound smdh, my local Lexus dealership is helping but I've been waiting for the wire harness for 2 months now smdh so I'm debating on trading it in for something. Been following your videos since you were in Sac Town btw congrats on your baby girl bro!

Caliber Collision did a horrible job on my GTI. I was not impressed with their work at all. I still need to bright it back to them to fix a few things but I am for sure hesitant based on their performance so far.

I messed with my BRZ dome-light wires to try to find a wire that would work with my light-up door sills, failed to figure it out even though I had tried to splice a couple of wires. Unfortunately I had a similar issue to you after I installed some LED bulbs. Left side often flickers or doesn’t power correctly unless I tap on it. Gonna have to get back in there and see if I messed something up. Could be we just have the wrong lightbulbs or they’re too cheap.

Had the same problem with the interior lighting on the roof side with my brz after owning it for barely a month. Even after replacing them, they still won't turn on. Had to mess around with it for it to function. One side would be bright, as it should, and then the driver side is dim.

I have this issue too. I get the feeling it needs particular lights. LEDs aren’t always plug and play to incandescent bulb sockets, hence why headlights sometimes need a modulator. He hasn’t had any issue that would warrant alarm. The o2 sensor issue was expected from a third party intake.

I get u were being lazy lol but damn if I noticed my dome lights ain't work when I got it home after it was worked on, in a brand new car lol I'd be concerned
