There’s really soooo much to choose from. Please continue the trilogy. This song was from his D2 mixtape. Next is “Haegeum” from his latest album, D-Day. Then “Amygdala” from the latter. The reason it’s a trilogy is because it shows a personal story, a lot of depth into himself as a person/artist. 💜

Yesss, he is a really good raper and that said by a Metal head grandma. Besides the Agust D trilogy recommended by Alonsyyy, I do like his songs: Agust D ( I saw your title and thought you were reacting to this one), Snooze and The Last (no official video- only lyrics, but in this one he split himself in pieces exposing his guts). If you want to continue with the BTS member's solo projects, I recommend "BTS V Tinny desk- Korea" a different genre, so you can experience the diversity. Thanks for the reaction.

I tend to subscribe only to reactors of BTS who care about the meaning of the lyrics because that's what draws me to them....they are brilliant songwriters. It's okay if you just like the beats, but for me that's just skimming the surface. YT channel DKDKTV has explanation videos for many BTS songs. It would be great if you'd follow the MV with the explanation. ARMYs would be curious to see your reaction to what the song is really about. Suga wrote it, produced it, planned the video, wrote the storyboards, and took sword dancing lessons, so he could do it himself. When he does something outside of BTS, he uses AgustD. He gives himself more freedom of language and subject matter, but didn't want to reflect badly on BTS, which used to try to stay PG for their audience, which includes teens.

Haegeum - The scarred AgustD got to the top again by being a corrupt cop. Killed by another AgustD who had matured and lost his scar. 4. It will continue. Take note. The best about BTS rappers is that they all are great and can hold themselves, which reflects in their works. And they all have distinct styles an flows, and also each of them still evolve. Their earlier works are often more raw as they were looked down upon, by their old underground rapper community because they became idols and by Kpop because they came from a very small company (South Korea has 3 companies called the Big3 that basically dominated all of Kpop, until BTS build own conglomerate, that now reigns higher than all of them, best Karma I have ever seen tbh). So in their works they wanted to show it to their haters, being more cool and hard. After a while the boys became more aware that these people don't matter, and they just wanna be their authentic selves, not caring what others talk, and that they can choose being soft of hard all they want. RM has a single "Come Back to Me" e.g. right now out that is very Indy like and not rap, but album "Right Person, Wrong Place" will be out 24.5 so lets see what he has more to offer. After the newst anti shit that goes on right now, I still expect a new diss Cypher to come out in 2025.

I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you. Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper in his hometown Daegu, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work.... he is one of the fastest rappers in South Korea. Suga (SHU-GA.... from Shooting Guard - the position he played in basketball) ...... AgustD = SUGA + DT (Daegu Town - his hometown) Spelt Backwards Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce, write and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - and last year released his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control) Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D". He is best known for his honest hardhitting lyrics. Bookish Theories KZbin channel has really good explanations to BTS videos as there is a lot of cultural references and depth to this song that really will blow your mind This is the first song in a trilogy..... He is a master storyteller.... a fellow army best explained the trilogy as - Daechwita... ridding himself of the need to prove his worth to others Haegeum... ridding himself of the confines of modern society Amygdala... he investigates the inner demons and trauma that started his confinement in the first place. Suga/AgustD wrote, composed and produced the songs, he conceptualised the MVs and had creative control (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) Fun facts - The gun used was a Colt M 1860 ARMY Daechwita is Traditional Joseon Korean Royal Parade/Military Music - notifying all that the king is here Yoongi(Suga) is a member of the clan of the very last empress of Korea. Daejanggeum Park is where the MV was filmed.... It is a giant film set that doubles as a public historical park where people can come to "experience" old times. Hope you have a great day💜💜Sending Greetings from Australia

Welcome to Suga's brilliant mind creation !!! This song is part of Suga's Trilogy songs: DAECHWITA HAEGEUM & AMYGDALA If you're impressed of Suga's Daechwita then get for the next one the HAEGEUM, it will blow your mind. You'll see tge evolotion of Suga from the time he released Daechwita in 2020 and his 2023 HAEGEUM. SUGA built a story in Daechwita ( it's Suga- ish style of writing music) then he followed a sequel in HAEGEUM and AMYGDALA is like the conclusion. Just remember guys Suga is so deep when it comes to producing or making a music -- writing, composing , lyrics , beats 100% all was created by Suga himself thats why he is a genius even making an MV , visual, cinematic , production , Suga's involved in everything. I love all the BTS members, theyre all unique and multi- talented you can't deny that , but the uniqueness of Suga aka Agust D as a musician and even his personality is just so rare, and so INCOMPARABLE to me. That's why he is my ultimate bias in all tge members of BTS. Note: Suga learned how to use or how to do the dance sword in just 2 days. Also yes, he playes 2 Suga here one the bottom poor Suga and the other one is the tyrant cruel king Suga. Thete is a DAECWITA EXPLAINED by DKDKTV TV of this and it will be blown you away more the meaning of this song,

Suga is one of the best rappers and is savage for being unapologetic with his lyrics when needed. But yes, he's part of BTS, he co-wrote a lot of BTS songs with the other members, and he also writes for other k-pop artists. Allow me to suggest s song music vid to see: That That (by Psy, feat Suga). So if you do not know Psy, he is the guy who gave you Gangnam Style. So Suga wrote this song for him. I recommend you watch the official music vid first, and then look up "PSY - 'That That (prod. & feat. SUGA of BTS)' Live Performance w/ SUGA at PSY 흠뻑쇼 2022 (SUMMER SWAG) in this order! Do not be tempted to check out the live concert first! To give you context (if you don't wanna check out the the-making of the official vid), he originally wrote it, but eventually joined the official music vid. You'd be pleasantly surprised, i swear!

For those new to K-Pop, Welcome. There are lots of videos out there on the formation of various groups, especially BTS that pretty much introduced K-Pop to the ‘rest of the world.’ PSY (Gangnam Style) in 2012 (who owns his own entertainment company now) was very popular and opened the door, but BTS blew the door away. K-Pop is not new. It was introduced in 1992. As it evolves, it is defined by “generations.” BTS is in the 3rd generation, Stray Kids & ATEEZ are in the 4th generation and now we have brand new groups defining the 5th generation. I purchased my first K-Pop CD in 2005 (a second generation artist called ‘Rain’) while stationed in Germany. Europe has been more aware of K-Pop for a couple of decades than the U.S. Many Americans ask the question why they were not aware of it and it’s mainly due to the control the American music companies have on the market. They change the stats on views, won’t let radio stations play the songs, etc. There is a video on that too how BTS scares the American music industry. There was probably a public bias against it too because the word ‘Pop’ is in the title. Anyway, K-Pop is NOT a genre of music. It includes multiple genres (hip hop, rap, pop, EDM, rock, etc.). It’s a format of music where the top entertainment companies in Korea have competitions periodically seeking talent. From those selected, the company pretty much determines what the trainees are best at, i.e., singing, dancing, modeling, acting, etc. then they go into training. If it’s singing, the groups are formed to train for singing and dancing together. Most contracts are 3 or 7 years. Many groups don’t last that long and most don’t renew. Many new groups come out annually but fizzle. The SK music industry also has solo artists/rappers/Indie-rock groups (like ‘The Rose”), etc. who release their own music. The SK acting industry also makes more TV series than movies. K-dramas are very popular. Nearly all of the songs for those shows have original soundtracks (OSTs) sung by an Idol from a popular group or solo artists so a lot of songs are overlooked from the music charts. The members of the K-Pop groups (or singer/dancers are called Idols). BTS specifically writes more of their own songs (most about their own experiences or encouraging positive thinking, actions, and support for ARMY) or those collaborated with others and their own lyrics and include more genres of music in any given song. Starting as a hip hop group they received a lot of hate over the years. Mostly from American & Korean rappers who teased them about their clothes, wearing makeup, not being ‘real’ rappers, etc. BTS’ rap songs are hard and were written about those experiences (the Cyphers, Ugh, Joke, etc.) as their response (sort of like, "Look at me now.") BTS also has given homage to those who inspired them, calling them out by name, whether it be rappers like Tupac or pop stars like MJ. Give K-Pop a chance. You may find something new that you like.

Keep going! Many surprises ahead for you.
@Mark-vj7zd8 ай бұрын
We were lucky to get this masterwork. If it hadn’t been for the pandemic BTS would have been on a massive sold-out world tour in 2020 and Yoongi almost certainly wouldn’t have had time and opportunity to finalise and shoot this video. Yoongi (Suga/Agust D) always has creative control of his solo work. The video concept and story came from him, and the music, lyrics and production are him and his friend and longtime collaborator Jang Yi-jeong (EL CAPITXN). The video director was Choi Yong-seok (Lumpens) who has worked on many videos with BTS over their career. By the way, the butcher/executioner who presented the rebel version of Agust D with the Colt ARMY revolver was played by the lighting director for the video. You should definitely react to Haegeum and Amygdala (in that order) to complete the trilogy. Be aware though, Amygdala is his personal history and trauma, which he’s never flinched from sharing with us. It’s a tough watch, especially if you already know at least some of what he’s endured.

You are correct. Suga also explained how he made his name Agust D to Jimmy Fallon. It is Daegu (hope I spelled it correctly) Town and Suga spelled backwards. I love you honest reactions, as this is how I felt when I first started watching and following BTS.

Jin & JungKook are the fighters.😂 imho AgustD is the best at riding beats and surfing over frequent tempo changes with his bars. The slow part where he is tied up with the fires is as brilliant as it gets.

If you notice at the start of the video he's at the butcher stall - the butcher is the executioner later. so there is a hint at paying off the guy. BTS videos - both group and solo - are FULL of meanings & hidden images.

2:55 the fight in the background is between Jin and Jungkook (other BTS members) lmao, I suggest you check out his self-titled song Agust D Some context: In older times the emperor or king's throne was called the dragon throne so him saying "rise up like a dragon" and "I'm a king I'm a boss" hits different

I'm late to the party... but I finally have time to look at videos I've missed. I teach and testing season just passed. I'm glad you found AgustD as it is more of his origins as he came from the underground rap scene in SK before he was tapped to be a trainee for BTS. He is a prolific songwriter and producer for both BTS and many other artists. Originally BigHit told him that was going to be his job with them... and then they changed their minds and signed him as a trainee for what would become BTS. He was the 2nd member signed after RM.ǰ̣ After many personal struggles with his own personal demons, thatvnearly drove him to suicide... the company agreed to his publish him also as AgustD (See Amygdala if you haven't already) material and we love it.

You basically need to watch this at least three times to get it 🤣 everyone, really. His flow and lyrics are gorgeous, the video is beautiful, and there's an intricate self-contained storyline with several layers of symbolic meaning. It's genius 😂

Tons of Army fanbase references!!!!! The girl with the 6 guys are Army and the other 6 BTS members. The headbangers are Army believing in him, siding with him, and helping in the coup over the king, who in one sense has a double meaning! The Big 3 in Kpop music industry that tried to cancel BTS from their trainee and debut days. Some say, the king is Suga in the past, so killing himself to start new, with out his history! The gun of course is a Colt "Army", so a direct reference to Armys global support of BTS! All the diss remarks at pill popping no talent rappers are all the Korean underground hip-hop rappers that disrespected them in a 2013 radio interview that went south. You had one rapper in particular - B-Free, 28 years old at the time (from Hawaii) - bullying RM and Suga (19 & 20 years old), by calling them sellout crossdressing girls for joining an idol group!!!!! So while he and BTS diss their haters, they never actually engage in or encourage others to harm their haters!!!! As for Suga/Agust D, I highly recommend you go back to his first mixtape song, Agust D. Daechwita is from his second mixtape. Then watch Haegeum, Amygdala and Snooze from his album (3rd in the trilogy) and you get a sense of his growth as an artist and music producer! For fun, watch his 2022 Psy, yes Gangnam Style Psy, collaboration That That!!!! It's beyond crazy good fun!!!! Listen to the rap line doing their thing in their Cypher pts 1-4, and BTS in Ddaeng, Idol, and Anpanman for disses on their haters!! Also, watch DKDKTV for Korean sociocultural and historical references in their videos before watching their videos, as you get a complete understanding of exactly what you're watching!!!! Welcome to your journey down the BTS rabbit hole of some of the best music for your soul, as BTS is really about self-love, respect, inclusion, acceptance and finding happiness!

FYI… those two fighting in the background at the beginning of the song are Jin and JungKook. If you watch the ‘making of’ video, it shows them meeting Yoongi (SUGA) on set. 😊

I loved your reaction to this video. It is the first in a trilogy followed by "Haegeum" and "Amygdala." There are great videos that will explain all of the cultural references and point out all the things you will have missed in the videos which is a lot. Suga/Agust D has a song called "Agust D" that is amazing and songs done with the other 2 rappers in BTS that you will like are the "Cyphers 1-4," "Ddaeng," and "Ugh." All of them are excellent.

Yes, DAECHWITA is part of a trilogy, followed by HAEGEUM and ends with AMYGDALA. You can also react to give it to me and Agust d from Agust d, he is my bias and for me he is the best rapper. I don't know about you but rap isn't just saying words one after the other as fast as you can. SUGA has really deep lyrics and tells his story in his songs too.
