Yes, he had a car accident while on his motor scooter doing deliveries, during his trainee days, before BTS debuted, where his shoulder was torn. He said, he remembers seeing the tire next to his head!!!!!! He never told BigHit about the accident fearing he would be cut from BTS and their debut. He performed for years with extreme shoulder pain, until 2020 when he got reparative shoulder surgery! In some live performances, you can see him not moving his left side, not lifting his left arm and rubbing his left shoulder area!!!! The pain he endured is just heartbreaking!!!! This is why he's not in the military military, but rather doing his military service through the social services department! Amygdala (ah-mig-dah-lah) the part of the brain associated with emotions, fears and motivation! He needs his amygdala to save him from all his painful memories!!!! Oh, at the end of his D-Day concert, he walks through the door!!!! So our Agust D, our Suga, our Min Yoongi is in a healthy place right now!

The amydala is the size and shape of an almond, so you see him eating almonds in the MV. His mom's heart was damaged. She had to have a pacemaker. Yoongi talks about that in the book Beyond the Story even questioning if it was right that he was born. (I'm currently listening to the audiobook again to refresh my memory.) During the final concert of his D-Day tour in Seoul he was able to walk through the door. It feel like a cathartic moment. This trauma will always be a part of him, but he's worked through it. Now he can move on. Edit: In Buddhist iconography, the lotus flower stands for purity, because dirt doesn't stick to its leaves. (Modern science discovered why and even created paint with these properties.) Edit 2: He revealed in Burn the Stage Ep. 3 to the members that he'd lied to them and the company about falling down the stairs and his motivation for doing so. V realized that this coincided with Yoongi quitting b-boying. (I had to look that part up.)

Thanks for breaking it down for them. The first time I watched this video I was speechless... It's the best visual representation of what trauma response looks like in my opinion... I went through it for a handful of years myself, It truly scared me how much I could identify with it. I'm so thankful that yoongi is on the other side of it now. And doesn't want to even go back to the place to write music like that anymore... Even though it's beautiful, it's painful for him. I was so happy when he walked through the door in the last concert, And so thankful I was watching it on a live stream with other ARMYs. 😭

This is actually an autobiographical song , story of Suga's life especially during his struggling years. I love him, he is really true and an honest artist. You can rarely see and heard an artists unmasking himself to the world especially if youre a superstar, but this is one of suga's different , special and the most unique among the BTS members and to other artists. The scar has so many symbolism , ( suga explained it during one of his many interviews when he released his albums. Suga's THE LAST also very raw song , so powrrfull and so honest telling also about himself. Oh, guys tgete so many beautiful and inspiring songs of Suga, you need to dig tge rabbit hole , he is a very uniqe and interesting person, brilliant, genius and glad that he is very strong and weathetd all the hardship in life. If you look up Amygdala, it is the part of your brain, shaped like an almond, that stores your trauma memories. It was an evolutionary development to preserve life. It keeps you from forgetting memories that have high fear emotions attached, so you will avoid that situation in the future. But Suga needs to let go of some of these awful memories that torment him. They are his real life memories and he suffered, not as much now, from depression, anxiety, suici**l thoughts, and intense shoulder pain from the accident. The pills you see him taking are most likely pain pills, but he often got cortisone shots before performances, so he could dance.

The whole song is autobiographical and true, and that's not even all the things he dealt with by half. He is soooo strong. His music is like a journal of his life. The trilogy is about his journey to healing his traumas. The scar represents his traumas, which he considers self-inflicted wounds because he was too young and not mentally healthy enough to deal well with all the things that happened to him, so they turned into traumas. The Mad King has a fresher scar than the peasant AgustD in Daechwita. The Mad King is full of wrath, taking heads and trusting no one. He represents Yoongi's rage, pain and paranoia. The peasant AgustD has his 6 brothers behind him, representing his BTS brotthers, and one woman representing ARMY. He is no longer alone, he has the people behind him too. He is more confident. In Haegeum, the Corrupt Detective has a fainter scar than the Peasant AgustD from Deachwita. He represents Yoongi's greed and ego, his concerns with labels and image and status. The Street AgustD in Haegeum no longer bears the scar. He still has his six brothers behind him, representing his BTS brothers. He slays the Corrupt Detective, again turning his rival's followers into his own, just like in Daechwita. In Amygdala we get a prequel. We are inside his mind and he is painfully alone and we see the origin of the scar as he talks about some of his traumas and how he made the best choices he could at the time.

Amygdala definition: Your amygdala is a small part of your brain, but it has a big job. It's a major processing center for emotions. It also links your emotions to many other brain abilities, especially memories, learning and your senses. When it doesn't work as it should, it can cause or contribute to disruptive feelings and symptoms.

I already loved Suga & AgustD but this one cemented him even deeper in my heart. I teach Anatomy & Physiology including about the brain. I use this video as a hook before we start on the limbic system of the brain as that is where the Amygdala is located. I play it for them without subtitles first and then ask them to discuss what role they think the Amygdala has in the brain.

Suga said in the behind the scenes video that he wants everyone to be understand that all scars (meaning mental scars) are self-inflicted. Meaning his anxiety over his past life events put a scar in his mind but he has since worked through it and learned to cope with it. In the first 2 videos he kills/defeats his past scarred life/personas- the evil king and the corrupt cop.

The bad things that the amygdala processes (emotional memory) end up being a protective memory: If you were stung by a bee, the amygdala gives you the feeling of fear because of the memory of the bad symptoms you felt and this fear protects you against another sting. The shape of the brain's amydala resembles the shape of an almond and that's why we see flashes of Suga sitting there eating almonds, super calm, watching the whole process happen. Your parents are well and healthy today. Your shoulder is treated. The end of the video is frustrating, as he can't open the door and get out. We will only understand him after seeing the end of the live show in Seoul, when he leaves through that same door, showing us how he overcame his difficult past. *Meanings for the song titles for the Trilogy* *Daechwita* - is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while the ARMY is marching or as a static performance usually when the King is arriving. (Suga aka Agust D meant the BTS ARMY to be implied.) *Haegeum* - has two meanings. The first, it's a traditional Korean string instrument, resembling a vertical fiddle with two strings, usually played at Royal Court. Also, it means to lift a ban, or release what is forbidden. *Amygdala* - is an almond shaped part of our brain which is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli, including detection of threat and activation of our fight or flight response. The amygdala helps to store memories of events and emotions so that an individual may be able to recognize similar events in the future. *My own thoughts on Agust D's Triology:* Yoongi has shared his mental health issues with us since the beginning, and he stated how some of his roughest times were in the early days, like from 2014 to 2016, how he developed social anxiety at age 18, he was dealing with depression and OCD. BTS had hate coming at them from all angles, and it took a toll on them in the early years. So hearing all the other things he was dealing with as well, just puts things into perspective. He's such a strong person. In the making video, he said the scars we create are of our own making. So the best way for him to represent that was the way that he did with the scar on his face. And the medicine he took was for his condition. He talked about how he saw a psychiatrist and his parents went with him, and they said they didn't know who he was anymore. This was in "The Last" from his first mixtape Agust D. He said how could anyone know him when he doesn't know himself, so that phrase "I don't know your name" made sense to me. Looking back at repressed memories. Thankfully he got through all of it, and now is healed to a certain degree. I see the rain as a shift., He also talked about "What doesn't kill you make you stronger", and he is now blooming like a lotus flower. The lotus flower is very resilient, and can grow in mud and water, like on a lake or pond. So I see the rain as cleansing, and healing. He also said in the behind the scenes on Daechwita, that the mad King was the Agust D from his first Mixtape in 2016, and the peasant was from his 2020 mixtape D-2. You can see the scar is very raw in that video on both of them, maybe slightly less for the 2020 Agust D. In Haegeum, i interpret it as Agust D from 2020 is the Police detective/corrupt Boss, with the partially healed scar, and the Agust D that kills, and steals the money with no scar is D-Day Agust D. The one that is mostly healed and is talking about freedom. (Do we ever completely heal from our scars?) In an interview with IU, and in the D-Day film, he talks about how he was very angry and now he has forgiven the haters and is living in the present. So his music moving forward may not have the angry vibe that we have seen in the past. But he is definitely not done yet Finally, Yoongi went on a world tour, after this album was released, and at the Final concert, he was very emotional, and had his BTS Bros. and his PEERS there with him. on a couple occasions, ARMY's sang the parts because he was so emotional he couldn't sing. And at the very end, the door he couldn't go through in this Music Video is on the stage, and he's able to walk through now. That tells me that he has healed and accepted those parts of himself, and he can move forward and let go now. You could see the relief on his face and the love as he waved good bye and closed the door. EPIC MOMENT.

I feel both blessed and cursed after hearing the song AND seeing the MV because as a fan I love that he loves us enough to share his innermost thoughts and darkest secrets, but also I hate that he went through all that shit in his life, because the thing with his parents and his accident were real. The symbolism is heavy, how he got the scar because of himself and trying to deal with all the trauma, but as you saw with Daechwita and Haegeum, it only started a cycle of good versus evil within him. And the answer is to let go and go through the door. Which was fulfilled in his first solo concert. So yeah. 😅😅😅

Everything really happened. The Amygdala is the part of the brain that stores our trauma. He has battled depression and other trauma's. He never has held back about mental health issues. He's a survivor.

cried the 2nd time i watched this, it was too heavy knowing Suga survived depression and maybe suicide attempt (theres a song that was blipped when psychologist/psychiatrist doc was asking about it). i relate to him having survived depression myself. Suga is my bias from day 1 and still is my bias wrecker is RM.

Agust D is a tough guy and you kind of make your assumtions about how he got the scar, because he have it in the two previous videos, although apparently it is not the same character, and then at the end it turns out it he did it to himself, that's genius narrative if you ask me

It never has to come to an end! They have a huge discography that is musically so varried. I have been part of ARMY since 2019 and still haven't heard everything. They also have their own variety shows. Just googl BTS variety shows and you will see what they have. Also, they turned music award shows into BTS concerts! Check out MAMA 2018 & 2019 award show! They NEVER miss!

You HAVE to react to his song ‘The Last’, it’s about his past too and it’s very dark just like this one!

If you like easter eggs, hidden stories and unfolding mysteries, you will love the Bangtan Universe (BU) BTS' supernatural mystery story that unfolds over years of time with clues hidden throughout multimedia content including: song lyrics, album notes, MVs, short films, books, webtoons, their mobile game BTS World and more. It was announced recently that when they get out of the military there will be another BU album coming, as that story is still ongoing.

This is his real life. I still break down when I watch it. But, the part that messes my head up the most is the part that hits me on a personal level. When he starts to get on the scooter for deliveries, and it's raining, he jumps off instead of driving. Either he gets a premonition, or realizes needs to go back and save himself, trapped behind the door. Maybe the state of mind he was in, he wasn't as alert on the road, but that's purely conjecture on my part. But, I digress. There was a time when someone i loved was really struggling in a bad head space, and I kinda didn't know what to do or say to help so I was kinda avoiding them. Seemed like everyone had become that way or was starting to believe it was just attention seeking. So, that person called me on my way to work, and with extremely slurred speech just said "Please...". And then there was some gurgling. I hauled my ass over there, beating and pounding desperately on the locked door, screaming for someone to call 911. Too late. I carry Narcan now.

You have to react to "The last" by Agust D. I've watched your other two reactions and from the vibe I get from you, it's going to become your new favourite.

I'm concerned by how many people I've seen not recognize the word amygdala. Is it not a part of middle/highschool curriculums anymore?

I recommend you listening to Agust Ds song the Last! In that song he goes through what his depression was doing to him and where it was taking him, and I'm telling you it could have ended really bad! Fortunately he got out of that shit!

Amygdala is an English medical term identifying a specific part of the brain. In short, the amygdala retains and processes memories and emotions. If you don't understand a specific word, especially if it's the title of a song i.e. , Daechwita or Haegeum, Google it to find the meaning.

If you love Suga in this trilogy songs, you'll love him more his older and very aggressive song AGUST D , and folliwed by sequel GIVE IT TO ME. AGUST D is the birth of his alter ego, where Suga showcased his rapid insane tongue technology . This is Suga's disstrack dissing the haters who lookdown him ,RM and to BTS. Suga's spitting fire here and all his frustration and anger to all the haters just pour and unload all his emotion in this song.

This is just part of all of what he's been through... You should check out "The Last" by Agust D (it doesn't have music video, only lyric video or live performance)... It's another inside to his tough life 💜🫂

That's his real life story guys you know as an army it's so hard to watch this song cause it's so hurt watching him like this 😭😭😭😭😭💜

Ah, great reaction! I avoid this song, hits too direct. 2 for 2 sobbing in the stands seeing live. Lol But you guys got it. Suga as a kpop Idol, had to quietly deal with tragedies in his family. Hide his shoulder injury from a pre-2013 accident, reconstruction surgery was finally in 2020 when he lost most mobility. The Amaglada is the part of your brain that warns you of dangerous patterns so you can avoid them in the future. Don't touch stove, fire hot. But when it is in overdrive that causes anxiety, hyper vigilence and depression. Also something that Idols/Pop stars are not supposed to have.
