Lee Hi is all about soul and groove. Her energy is always laid back and chill. She's not holding back. That's just the way she is and that's what makes her who she is. She's just a cool chick. Love her low-toned soulful voice. Oh and by the way, the correct way to pronounce her name is Lee Ha Ee. 3 distinct syllables. Don't say "hi" like we normally say it.

what's with the hate towards lee hi ? I personally can't imagine someone disliking lee HI's songs because it's all very diverse and amazing. Also an artist who doesn't have a high pitched voice doesn't mean they can't sing or are holding back. and she was not lip-syncing she was singing the whole time.

i was confused as well when they started talking about backtracks but realised they meant at the start of the song she wasnt singing but the backtrack was playing and they were confused on how that happened. i thought they meant she was lip syncing as well

Killing Voice has showcased several artists that serve a chill, R&B, mellow, deep, and/or soul type of style...such as LeeHi and others. The goal of the show is just to show off a wide variety of amazing vocal styles and talents. As you listen to more artists on KV you'll see the variety and begin to appreciate them all since yall only have a couple KVs under your belts. It's a shame that you guys had to call her "holding back"...which is quite contradictory esp since you guys have said in the past that you like slower/ballad type songs...oh well And I am genuinely surprised you guys couldn't tell the difference between the artists' live vocals versus the backing track....it's quite obvious....?

Lee Hi was on the show Kpopstar in 2011 when she was about 15 and was a runner up. She did a cover of Love the Way You Lie with two males that's really good. She signed with YG and debuted with 1,2,3,4 in 2012. The rapper at 21:10 is renowned African American/Korean rapper Yoon Mirae, aka Tasha. She and her husband, Tiger JK, are considered pioneers in Korean hip-hop and rap. Lee Hi is not really a dancer, and she does a lot of chiller R&B, plus she's just laidback in general. She's not an idol. I recommend 1,2,3,4 for upbeat but also Holo for emotion.

So Lee Hi is a very charming artist but she is quite the introvert so she can come off as shy at first. The reason why you might not have liked the dingo as much is because she is not the type to go big and crazy lol. But I think you would enjoy a lot of her songs. Personal recomendations based on your reaction: NO ONE, Red lipstick, ONLY, 1, 2, 3, 4 (debut) and Breath (which has a special meaning to the whole kpop community, might want some lyrics for this one).

There's a live performance of Tip Toe out there, with Crush as a duet that is really good. There's also a series of Begin Again performances that are amazing, like her performance of Rose. I second the suggestion for the live 4 ONLY performances, Day 1 and Day 2. Lee Hi was signed by YG Entertainment at age 15, and they had no idea what to do with her. If you see her early MVs, like for 1, 2, 3, 4, you won't recognize her. That's where she got dance training, though. She is at a company that fits her now, AOMG, and she is in the R&B world.

I think the best Killing Voice episode is Big Mama! I was super duper impressed by their harmony and energy. Also, thank you for reacting to Lee Hi. I have been a fan of her since her audition on Kpop Star which was when I was in my early teen (im 27 now), she has some really emotional song and some songs are asian karaoke favourites. 😊
