I like their comeback! A bit sad that they only had one small rap portion, but BOCA makes up for it :D Also love how Handong got a lot of lines and even sang one of the chorus part. For me, Yoohyeon caught my eyes this era. She's not even my bias (My bias are SuA and JiU, wrecker Gahyeon)

@@AZODi My only gripe I have is they always pull back the volume of the Guitar and the impact of the bass. There's a heavy bass line in the back of Odd Eye and yet it barely hits, even when I turn the EQ up on the bass. I know the primary genre is K-Pop and they have to appeal to the masses, but it hurts my soul to hear a bass line like that that I can't pump through a sub and blow out my windows
@umadut6223 жыл бұрын
@@LastKnight0727 i think that's comes from general kpop tuning which is less heavy on bass to compromise bass heavy audio device (earphone, speaker, etc) which most people have. I have listened to Dreamcatcher, Lovelyz, and GFriend and i think their songs have very similiar tuning. They sound better on my warmer earphones than brighter ones.

ahhhh now I know why their songs is a little bit more "anime OST" feeling compared to any K-pop, is due the BPM. their slightly higher bpm make their song makes it feel like any Anime OST, a.k.a in-line with J-pop peer... that's why sometimes when I hear their song, I always thinking "what J-pop group that sing this..." somehow, Dreamcatcher makes me remember LiSA and from J-POP. she is soloist and done some Anime OST. my fave from her is Angels Beats OST and Crossing Field from Sword Art Online OST.

MY INTERPRETATION: There is no perfect world (Utopia) or that the world that you thought was perfect may not be, the importance of maintaining the essence of yourself and not try to change to fit in a superficial world, of possible appearances and lies; the encouragement to see the world with more sincere and deeper eyes (Odd eye), which can also be appreciated when Jiu covered his eyes (When the fake appearances and the temptations are too much and you need to avoid them). They also talk about the lies and pain of the sophisticated world where there is a bright appearance of light and sweetness, but many times it is not sincere and following that path leads to a world of despair and pain because one lie leads to another, generating a circle of endless anguish. Since I listen to a lot of rock music, I noticed the guitars in dreamcatchers songs often seen more produced and less raw. Especially odd eye, the heavy guitars are almost minimized. There still very much there in the song. I'm not a musician, I just want to know what is happening.
@AZODi3 жыл бұрын
fair point lindsey! ok so my guess is, rock music generally have their guitars louder in the song cause its ROCK! its all about the guitars! haha since this is pop music with metal influence, the vocals will take priority more than the guitars, so that may be why they seem smaller!
@RhythmAddictedState3 жыл бұрын
I love the shreds in the chorus, but I hate that I can't hear them well at all. Must be the compression :((
@AZODi3 жыл бұрын
yeah its so good! well this is more of a mixing thing, if it was all out metal, the guitars would be much louder in the mix, but since its pop with a lot of vocals happening, the guitars would have to be slightly sacrificed in volume and turned down. In all pop genres the vocal always takes the main focus point!
@RhythmAddictedState3 жыл бұрын
@@AZODi I dunno, their other songs seem to have been mixed much better than this one, even though they're also pop/vocal-heavy. This song sounds a bit "mushy" in comparison. Could be a me problem though :D Anyway, I love Dreamcatcher. They have their very own signature style, but they also change it up and mix it with other genres. And the SHREDS

I think I can be honest with somnias and say that this song is rather simple and repetitive. They never build or develop the chorus and by the end,which should have a massive flourish,is just the same as the first chorus. I personally wish they had Siyeon doing her vocal flexes while Leez shreds out on an electric guitar in the back while the beat becomes faster and faster before ending.
@Jc_123683 жыл бұрын
Yeah I actually agree, this has been the case for the last 3 comebacks. At least in Boca Siyeon had those insane high notes. Kinda wish this song also had more.
@peija963 жыл бұрын
Yep i get what you mean. I also think by DC standard this song is okay, not Dejavu epic level but still enjoyable.
@peachesandcream87533 жыл бұрын
While it is simple I think it still hits the mark and is a great song for those who aren't into metal or rock and will hopefully give them their first win. If people hear this song as their introduction into Dreamcatcher they are more likely to listen to their other songs while if they listened to Scream first (my favourite song of theirs) and didn't like the rock elements then I can imagine it would put them off. I can understand they're more focussed on getting a win at this moment in time.
@rioalif23583 жыл бұрын
Well, this describes my first reaction hearing ODD EYE. No offense, DC sounds good in this one, but it is not as experimental or new as expected. I still like BOCA more than this.
