Thanks tactics! I really appreciate it! TBH it varies, I want to give you as much information as possible, so it requires me listening to the song more than once. On the other hand (and you will see this in the next video later tonight) I'm doing a song you guys requested, I already know the song fairly well, so I can't react 1st time! Thanks Gavin, I appreciate you pointing that out, you are so right ha ha! It's tricky to balance non producer language vs. advanced producer language, especially if you want the majority of people who aren't musicians to get value and learn something from the video. Breaking down all the intricacies of the writing and production over a 8 - 10 minute video is pretty tricky ha ha Some of my older content is like that but the videos were long, once I start getting cuts I'll dive deeper into the production side of my own songs in longer videos, for the producers and writers! great react vid man, love getting analyses on k pop production. it has this whole facade to it that we don’t get too many sneak peeks into. to me, it’s the next best thing after sitting in the studio with their engineers and producers. they’re really the unsung heroes of the industry imo.

Thanks dude! You have a great name btw haha yeah its really cool to be writing music in! Yeah for sure, I enjoy producing songs where the creative freedom is really vast! Engineers are awesome most def, I feel that they have a very logical and sensible mindset when mixing, they remove emotion out of the equation and act on what works. My biggest flaw is when I mix is liking a part that I wrote too much, so I make it louder. That isn't always the best thing for the mix hahaha Appreciate your comment!!

I think that chord you are talking about isn't diminished, it's a flat 7 chord. The song doesn't start on the tonic of the chorus but is in the relative minor (C minor), but the prechorus is where it finally switches to the relative major. The prechorus and chorus are in Eb Major and that fun chord is a Db. Love music theory!

Great thanks Anita! Tbh Kpop structure isn't different from western pop structure! Still follows the same route most of the time like intro, verse, Pre Chorus, A chorus and B chorus etc I think what throws people off is more of the writing and the occasional massive genre shift in some sections. For example in Western pop you would have maybe 2 genres in a song max? Kpop its literally the more genres the merrier haha that's why its so good and creative to write in!

I had a listen, its an incredible song. It's super creative and they actually break a few "traditional" song writing rules which is really interesting! Love how it builds into the chorus then having the A chorus really stripped back instead of being big. Nice song!
