GURL I just discovered this song 2 weeks or so ago and was like ‘this is the c*ntiest thing I’ve ever seen in second gen AND I LIVE’ and not you now making a video about it... THAT CHOREO... it’s my nomination for the ‘Top 5 most gaggiest choreos of the 2nd Gen’. I’ve been saying this, stop debuting minors and bring back the sexy concept, I am sure there are plenty of idols that would want to do it more than the girl crush or whatever concepts are popular these days. Kpop became SO conservative if you think about it...

The mature groups that exist today would get called hags if they did a sexy concept. People constantly decry the lack of sexy concepts but stan groups with minors and I don't know what they expect. Anyway, VIVIZ and Dreamcatcher(their cover of Something is amazing!) would both absolutely slay a sexy concept.
@Carolina-bw6gy Жыл бұрын
Sameee. Red velvet, Blackpink, Chungha, The boyz, Seventeen, Nct 127 would rock sexy concepts but its hard to expect that from mainstream kpop, specially when nowadays the trend is the y2k soft pop, not the genres jazzy, r&b or club edm sound (common in sexy concepts) I dont expect nugus or rookies from 4th or 5th gen coming with sexy concept, the only one of the new gen that does that is Onlyoneof lmao.

I have no shame in saying this: I was 15 when RaNia debuted. Their debut as a whole and the music video is what made me became legitimately attracted to girls. Di being my main bias back then because of her short blonde hair. Later that year, I came out as bisexual. ❤ Aside from that, I recall people calling RaNia the dark version of SNSD due to the larger member count. Dr. Feel Good and Masquerade are still great songs today! English or Korean. I also recommend “Goodbye,” easily one of the prettiest ballads I’ve heard. The members really shined through their vocals.

My only gripe about this debut is on how Jooyi was treated. They made her sing the whole song without any screentime. I would prefer they double or triple the line distribution of the other members but give Jooyi at least 20-30 seconds of solo screentime to make up for her lost lines.

A week ago this song came back up on my playlist and I lost it all over again for this absolutely banger of a song. A wave of how crazy people reacted to their debut came back to me. I'm so glad you covered this, I kept wondering if you would when I heard it again. I hate what their company did to them, they had insane potential and were genuinely ahead of their time with this concept & it's definitely what we need today. It was beyond just a sexy concept it was one of the first times I had ever seen such a strong image of confidence in one's sex appeal, especially for women, in kpop and I think it brought out that confidence in women who enjoyed it. In short, it made every a bit of a thotty and we should celebrate that.😌

whenever i see the question what song should get the brave girls rolling' treatment next? my answer is dr. feel good by rania. it's too good of a song for how it's been forgotten, even the english version is one of the best (if not THE best) in k-pop. it's so unfortunate the teddy riley was right and they were unable to keep their momentum going thanks to their shady ass company, i really wonder what would've been of them if he had follow up with that promise to sign them with him if they left the company.

Dr. Feel Good was one of the first kpop songs my little sisters introduced me to, and it's still iconic to me to this day. It's a shame South Korea hates sexy concepts, because had DR Music done right by them, they would've been huge in the states. I grew up on Teddy Riley's music (Wrecks=n--Effect, Guy, Blackstreet, etc) and he's very well respected in R&B circles. He's part of the reason I love Shinee and EXO's music so much.

BP Rania is still Rania tho 🥹. DRM haven't changed the group status, consistently incorporating the Rania name to their girl group. Rania's disbandment in 2015 isn't true either, since Saem came back in 2017 for BP Rania, and Alex leaving BP Rania, removing the “BP” and using Rania until their last year of activity.
