Innova, Xylo, Ertiga etc.. multipurpose vehicles are generally used for non-commercial purposes as people carriers.. On the other hand, MUV was a term originally used for commercial mini people carriers, that doubled as goods carriers as well. A good example is the Tata Winger minivan. But sadly a few stupid Indian automobile journalists started using these terms interchangeably.. now people have no idea what an MUV and what an MPV is..
