Not so long ago, Family MPVs weren't very desirable and were looked down upon by many. You drove one because you had to, not because you wanted to. But then, car manufacturers started making them interesting and loaded them with tech that would embarrass many luxury cars in the market. They were well packaged to seat six or seven passengers and were beautifully put together inside. Soon these MPVs started looking like the thinking man's choice and appealed to bigger families looking for a premium family car. Dude, I got an XL6, couple of weeks back, I went into an unintentional drift after the rear washed out on a slick corner thanks to some unnoticed oil/diesel on the road. Luckily I got away with a bit of opposite lock and the rear end got back in line without drama. Through out it, the car was very stable and didn't make me one bit nervous and the car had enough power to floor it back in line. MPVs are prone to rear wheel washouts on slippery roads unlike hatch backs and sedans due to the long wheelbase. A handbrake turn test brings out how composed it could be in such a situation. Disclaimer: I have more than a decade of Motorsport experience behind the wheel and on two wheels, so please do not replicate or try out anything you see here or what I said.

For me XL6 is enough...Carens looks like a van..XL6 even though is based on ertiga with some simple cosmetic changes Maruti managed to uplift the car in all aspects..safety wise Ertiga had 3 stars ...So xl6 also almost same..But 2 extra airbags may have improved that..

There was a mistake in the comments on GNCAP protocol. New protocols came in to effect in July 2022. Carens was tested in June 2022, under older protocols it self. None of the cars are so far tested under new GNCAP protocols.

Nexa's premium service offering is just a gimmick. Apart from a few Nexa service centers around EKM, there are no "NEXA" service centers in other districts. About 4 years back when I bought my car from NEXA, I was informed that the NEXA service center Kottayam is under construction and will be operational within an year. And they continue to repeat the same every year.

We expected premium when my friend booked ignis through nexa, but sad to say delivery itself was horrible. 1. They delayed the dates way far from the promised date 2. Even after waiting almost 2 hour on the delivery day the car came not properly washed, had minor scratches on orvms, rust inside the engine bay And they just have "it's all normal" attitude.

Wow factor is more for higher trims in carens, where xl6 does not have anything like that. I test drove both, with my kid and wife in third row, to assess the motion sickness, as we all used to go for long hauls, Kia carens is much better in that aspect compared to XL6. Next is budget , for 17 plus lakhs you get top variant of xl6 where at the same price you only get a seven seater( not a 6 seater which wont be avbl in mid trims) in mid trim dct. Again wow factor , you wont get in mid variants of carens. In short, if you are tight on budget, have to compromise on quality and the above mentioned lack of comfort on XL6. Or not so wow’ mid trim carens.

Xl6 base variant എടുത്താൽ തന്നെ basic features കിട്ടും. Auto ac ,led headlights ഒക്കെ from base ഉണ്ട്. Kia base variant auto ac ഒന്നും വരുന്നില്ല. Base variant of xl6 is vfm. Lookwise also xl6 better. Interior kia is far better.

HONDA BRV is truly 7 seater. 4star Safety with 2 airbag and without speed reminder. if they provide that it then sure for 5*. And the looks like love or hate. But its HONDA and they changed the styling abroad.

We gave 2017 creta for 5th year annual service to Popular hyundai service centre in trivandrum. They are already billing 15k+tax for regular service. In addition, they are telling to repair/replace the following- Starter and alternator Rs 2200 RH drive shaft deal Rs 3200 LH wheel cylinder Rs 1800 Drum skimming Rs 1500(excluding tax). Now the bill is going upto 29k including tax. Last year also, after some replacements like carbon filter bill was 30k. The cost is too high but unable to find a reliable service other than hyundai centre. Can you give me a realistic solution when the technician asks to do these additional replacements to inflate the bill? We are unable to deny him as we ourselves don't know the full technicalities, so we agree to everything at the end. We are actually fully at his mercy as we are unaware of each and every technicality in a car.

As usual comprehensive and objective review guys. But you are incorrect @40:00. The crash test and rating protocol has not changed for a long long time (which shouldn't have been the case). The Kia was also tested as per the old/same protocol as the Ertiga and likely the last test as per old protocol. The updated protocols are in effect only from tests July 2022 onwards and ideally I would imagine for cars launched after this period.

When you choose for a vehicle need to consider the Sales and Service aspect as well. This week I went to Nexa showroom Kalamasery and Ingeon KIA in Edappally . At NEXA the sales person just explained the features of XL6 and there were no cars available for test drive and offered me to available a test drive vehicle at my Home. But nothing happened , no call back no follow up and even I had to call them back for price list and other details. They are just thinking it's my duty to help their business grow. At Ingeon KIA, I got excellent welcome, the sales person there explained very well about the Carens and it variants and features. They gave me test drive in a top variant and I'm fully satisfied with that test drive. After that they even helped me to evaluate my old car, loan calculation and everything. Then they are just following me up until now but I can't take a decision until I get a test drive in XL6 and I'm on the mercy of sales persons in NEXA.

Go for xl6 for th worth f money without a second thought..pros r cons r ther in both sides and it's usual regarding service..but for all luxury features in kia we have to pay 5 lakhs more which can be done under 1 lakh in xl6...still carens luxury plus variant don't have a 360 camera vch is an excellent feature

I don't know how's xl6 reliable now. It's using new k series engine which is having lot of lagging. Long term it will only create more issues. Don't forget alto k10.

First gen XL6 is more peppier than the new version. But 2022 version has 1-1.5kmpl more fuel economy than previous gen K15B engine.
