So i would definitely replace that tensioner at bare minimum. Those are known to fail even with low miles and even new. You can lose a motor real fast.

Though I havent seen a failure, a friend who's a mechanic recommended it so you're right. I'm not getting around to the install fast enough anyway so I may as well get the tensioner on order or local pickup.
