It's always nice to get your equipment settled in and your station setup right & operational. After my move I am in this same process. I have come to realize how easy setting up antennas "Use to be" for me but the rewards are worth it all in the end. Just make sure you have an extra set of hands to help and by all means an accurate meter❗👍

K7AGE, Congratulations on your escape from Kalifornia. I am also a transplant. I am in Bandon Oregon from Seattle. I grew up in Bandon so I have a realistic appreciation of coastal weather conditions. Remember, it will rain like hell but then the sun WILL come out! You will always know when it's winter on the coast. That's when the rain goes sideways......lol 73's bob KF7ZSA

Very impressive video. Can't wait for Part 2. 146.96 died today because of the storm and reduced sunlight - we switched to reserve batteries so we'll use 146.84 (-) 88.5 for local - 147.25 (+) 88.5 is probably your best bet from Gold Beach.

I just finished putting together my first shack, too (just got tech and general about 4 months ago, studying for extra now.) If you're curious, I have pictures up on QRZ. Call is W5YOP. You gave me a fantastic idea. Originally I bought a Behringer 802 mixer myself (little brother of your version) but I had only gotten it to supply the phantom power to light up my Heil FIN mic. I ended up hating it (long story) and got a Shure 5575LE Anniversary Edition instead which didn't have back-lighting, so I hadn't been using the mixer anymore...but it hadn't even occurred to me to run my transceivers through it and use monitors! I just got a pair of Bowers and Wilkins MM-1's for the computer, but might be able to use them for both. If you don't mind investing more $ in speakers, I'd recommend them. They'd be a definite step up from the JBL's. I look forward to watching your other videos.

Howdy Randy I have a question for ya. first check out this link for this vertical HF antenna.www.amazon.com/MultiBand-Vertical-Amateur-Hustler-5BTV/dp/B00GZVE0E0/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1463123585&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=80+meter+di+pole+for+ham+radio I want to get this HF antenna but a friend keeps telling me that with a vertical you have to have ground radials imbedded under ground for it to work . My property is too small to set up a 80 meter di pole so I was hoping to get this vertical and set it up for 10 through 80 . so My question is will this vertical antenna work ok like it is without having to run under ground radials to it? Pleas help I will appreciate any help you can give. 73 AE6DF.
