I have the plastic fantastic Engel. It freezes stuff at the bottom if set to low. Does the job. People complaine about kings, but if it works and keeps working then it's a winner.

the older model is basically a rebadged Waeco CF60. Ive had my Waeco CF40 for almost 20 years and its still going strong. I beleive the only difference is the power supply, the Waeco have inbuilt 240v plug socket whereas the Kings need an external power adaptor for 240v
@LiquidAntler Жыл бұрын
Yea still have both and still going strong. Definitely prefer the older model though.

Bought the 65l fridge online yesterday. One off sale and got it for 300. I added the cover to bring it to 358. The straps are now here for 16. Add delivery for 45. I think I'll see if I can pick it up. I thought it a steal! I don't need 65l as I don't eat that much but it was the only size on sale. I'll buy a bluetti later on down the track..

The Sawafuji is a better compressor than even the old Danfoss made in Denmark. Before Secop bought them. I sold a WAECO/Dometic with a DB35F Danfoss. Secop nowhere written on it. That's still running 9 years later. But I wouldn't put in the same company as the Engel. The VMOSO2 and VMOSO3 compressors that Dometic makes I like better than the Danfoss I had. Cools a lot faster. I'm waiting to see how long they last. Here in the state's Indel B labeled Iceco brand and Setpower brand are your Kings brand. They are all over the YooToob's on US vanlife/overland/camping channels. They are another one I'm waiting to see how they fair, 5-7-10 years down the road. Dometic, National Luna and Snomaster has went away from Secop. And make their own. ARB is the only high end still using them.

I have the 80L Kings fridge and i havent had much issue with it the temp does bounce a bit and has a tendency to freeze items even when set to 1-2 degrees, dont mind it though the lock down clips are great and i like being able to have a fridge and a freezer
@LiquidAntler3 жыл бұрын
Yea I have noticed the temp does vary a bit. I set mine around 2 degrees and nothing seems to freeze

Secop portable fridge compressors are an entirely Chinese product and have been for quite a few years. The BD35 model number is a carry over from when Secop took over production from Danfoss. The current 60L will have a Secop PBC2.0 which is basically the same as the BD35. The 65L has a Wancool compressor by Wanbao. These have been around for years mostly rebranded for Waeco, Evakool and others as their own brand compressor. The quality and reliability in my experience is very similar to the Secop. For $40 difference I would go the 60L but if it was more than say $100 id be fine with the 65L.

The 65L uses the dame tie down points as the 50L, you put a plate in behind the screw and use the tie down to whatever you want

At the end of the day it's the same stuff evakool and waeco sell, don't worry about the engel Fanboys there a different species,I would be buying on who handles the warranty the best so you can't get any worse than evakool

Releasing a fridge with no tiedowns is very poor. They will get a lot of angry customers wanting to send them back. But based on their track record, Kings will just cop the abuse and claim that the fine print and photos indicate that.
