My dad is gold appraiser. All banks were giving gold loan/gram more than RBI policy. Now RBI is auditing more which makes all banks to reduce gold loan/gram . It seems Rs 4100 / gram of gold only giving as loan by bank whereas they were giving 5600/ gram of gold. RBI trying to reduce gold loan which inturn reduce people to buy gold. so 2 things- 1- Buying gold at 7400/ gram and pledging for 4200/ gram will not benefit as like before. 2. Gold loan business will reduce. This will affect bank stocks as gold loan only contributing more in bank profit.
