This is an amazing video, thanks for point out all the issues, I am aware most of them, and most changed or on the way to improving them. About the motor, you are right, this one is 1kg extra, and about 19% more torque than the light motor on the very first few batch, include the one to kramtoo. Now he had the new hub as well. few more things get improved in terms of details as well. @@sampras We will have the rear extended fender coming out very soon, and you could check kaabo philippine on facebook, they did some water proof for the scooter, but in the end of the day, it is not designed to use under rain, some time I ride in big rain for short distance, but it is fine

@@michaelsha2781 thank you for your reply. In 2 months that I owned m365 I made 600+ km, and deffinetly realised that I need something bigger and stronger. My first option was zero 10x, but fortunately for me it was out of stock, so while I was waiting for my dealer to get new shipment this beast got released. I hope that in around 3 weeks i will get my scooter and it will probably be first one in my country. Going to use it 365 days a year and that is why I asked you about waterproofing it. For now we have a facebook group with 400+ members and it gets bigger every day. Most of the people have m365 but they are slowly beginning to ask questions about stronger models. So start stronger global campaign and dont focus just on France, make more test videos and conparison videos between models like mantis vs 10x etc, and also make them in english so you get bigger shout out. Keep up the good work and good luck with your product.

Excellent video, very thorough review! Love the Mantis design & performance, good to be aware of some of the possible drawbacks of these early production units such as possiility of rainwater entering deck near controller & fender design not “fending off” water from wheels at speed. Am thinking application of some sort of flowable silicone sealant on gaps in front platics near stem may be simple method of improving level of water resistance. Like it or not, all of us riders will get stuck riding home in the rain sooner or later, improving waterproofing should exend service life & overall reliablity of the Mantis over time. Even with these small drawbacks, Mantis scooter looks to be positioned well to be new market leader for value, aesthetics, and performance. We’ll be seeing huge numbers of consumers begin to look for higher end scooter options as upgrades/ replacements for their M365 type entry level scooters. Once more riders become aware of the Mantis model, Kaboo likely to steal away many many Zero10X customers. Maybe even good number will opt for Mantis over Dualtron, especially when considering price vs performance. Can’t wait to start seeing more of these on the street! Curious to see reactions of current Dualtron owners when they see Mantis keeping pace with their $3k scooters too… they may be taken aback when they discover performance capabilites of the Mantis. Hopefully subpar waterproofing will not result in reliability issues, though… nobody rides scooters indoors, bound to encounter wet conditions out in the real world. Still, impressive offering from Kaboo!

Thanks for your comment, I really think mantis is a very good scooter already and Kaabo is fast in adapting and improving :) You will see however in comparison that a Dualtron also has its benefits, depending on taste and need (for example Dualtron suspension is so far better suited for heavier persons, Mantis is better for lighter Persons). What speaks for the Mantis is a very good value for Money and great design.

Hahaha - I also kept hitting the hot throttle when moving the scotter around so had to change to kick to start. Am over 6' but find the fixed stem too long for my comfort but picked up a good tip here to flip the handlebar upside down even though that could look weird. Great review overall but gotta get a beer break before the part 2.

Sorry that the video is so long :D For me this is the only time the throttle accident ever happened to me as i use scooters without kickstart for a long time but i dont usually explain how they work with scooter on ;-)

One guy that "buys" his scooters is called 'Pirate'. He's from Poland and he always seems to have new scooters etc and says he buys them, but in his description and on video, he says you can get a discount from his name by typing it in transaction. That's how I know he gets them sent and returned probably.

Incredible detail, I really appreciate! In the UK the colour variation in Black with Red deck and grip clamps you have isn't available; The Black is 100% Black. I would like the Red "Ferrari" version! What a shame about the points you make: The handlebar grips, the handlebar / down tube size and shape for accessories, the fender that doesn't work in the rain, the fixings not lining up, the thin cables, the single charge port, Ahh all the details are so important! I would still like one, I will bit the bullet I think.

Some of the points mentioned are already fixed in the newest version and for aome there is at least an aftermarket Accessory. Still they could have designed it better in the first place. But i could make such a flaw List for nearly every Scooter and at least the Mantis has a lot of strong Points also.

Sadly it is not possible. You can disconnect them inside the deck if you want to permanently disable the side light.

Looking forward to testing drives videos :) Had small laugh when your scooter falls down :D And small tip: You might change the settings of your throttle so it wont start right away, it's quite dangerous especially for pedestrians :)

Very nice review! Regarding the light switch. Are you sure there's no relay in the other end? Sounds weird to have the full power going through that tiny switch

Thanks. Regarding the light switch - yes, this is a little curious and there is no relay. But on 60V line there is only a very small current flowing through the switch and the cables (1/5 of what would be needed at 12V...)

Kaabo Mantis claims its 3600w but thats not true. ordering on albaba is hard to see it shows different photos of the same scooter so u never know what your going to get , as far as speed how fast can it go? how do u know if the battery u ordered is what they say. nothing seem like it should be in the front is a gap were water can come in

Hi :) The claimed 3600W (approximately) are true max power output and this is in line with similar scooters and controller (Talking about the mantis Pro with 2x27A @ ~66,6V = 3600W). On Alibaba you always have to talk to the seller and agree what product you get for what price. They usually display only a sample product but you can order every version. Regarding water - you are right, there is a gap. In newer Versions Kabbo put silicon everywhere as a sealing but i cannot prove how well this is made.

You mean 8" tires i guess? By default i am not a fan of the smaller tires but i have not tested the 8" Mantis as it is brand new. Semi hydraulic Brakes mean you still pull a cable but there is oil inside the break that make the brake pad compress from both sides simultaniously. Basic cable disc brakes only press from one side. The braking power is a little better on semi hydraulic but can be more smoothly controlled intensity wise. Basic cable brake is more like on/off.

10x is not just good for the price range.. Plastic controller, range is not that good, long deck, and 52V only compare to this mantis pro.

I am really not sure. I have tried many Dualtrons but not the Eagle pro so far. The Eagle Pro would for me (with an Stem Adapter to gain more heigh) a very compelling Scooter. On the other Hand the newer Mantis (V3) has many improvments in Quality compared to the Unit I got.

Ich hab den 24,5AH LG Akku. Der ist schwerer weil auch mehr Zellen drin sind als in der kleineren Variante (16x7 Zellen). Von den China Akkus gibt es aber auch welche mit mehr oder weniger Kapazität und Gewicht aber beim selben Gewicht hat der LG Akku immer mehr Kapazität.

Speedway 5 has 3" wide Tires that are without inner tire if I remember right so these 10x2,5" wont fit (older Dualtrons had exactly this tire as the bigger Mantis)

If you dont want to seal it yourself I would recommend something else. But be aware that even very waterproof scooters will get damaged in winter if there is salt on the street as this is very corrosive.

My mantis pro doesn’t charge past 60% ?!? I have the p1 setting at 60 and it just shows green on the bricks it thinks it’s at 100 but it’s not so you know how to fix?

Have you checked the rated voltage and real output Voltage of the charger? The setting of P1 is only for correct % display but will not change charging behaviour. While unlikely the charger may have the wrong output voltage. What can also happen is that charger is in protection mode. In this case plug it into the wall, then into the scooter, unplug from the wall, wait till the light go out and plug into the wall outlet again (all while keeping plugged in the scooter). Some times this helps.

Hi, there should not even be a charger with 59.8V as it is not a standard. 58.8V would be more likely and yes, this would be wrong for your scooter. The (60V dual Motor Mantis) needs a 67,2V charger.

mine came with it. This is actually the standard, only fluid freeride in the US chose to make it all black so now this is an option. You can get the other Color in Aliexpress kwk store or possibly on other (local) shops that sell mantis

How do you deal with noisy, creaking, unstable steering column / wabbly stem?

ralf halbknapp Please post a video on that :) I added some oil and unscrewed a little screw under the stem just a bit, when you bend it down ( there is a video on that from kaabo Philippines). I love the scooter so far but going 60km/h is a little too risky on the Chinese type of vehicle :) I ride 30-40km/h usually in a good German ABUS helmet :) Fixing it kind of helped but the stem is not as sturdy as my other scooter (ninebot max) that I gave to my gf

Hard to say, I like both for various reasons. Newer Mantis has some small improvements compared to this one and so does the Eagle Pro compared to my Spider.

The newer spiders should be fine but i can confirm that i had some problems with my spider (one of the very first units). It now rund fine but i have replaced the controller 2 times. But of 4 Mantis Units i can also tell of 3 dead controllers so it is not that much better... Mainly it is a problem of Minimotors and once they fix it or have fixed it this will help all products powered by this type of controller.

I have this extended fender installed and yes, it works fine. a pity that they did not get it right in the first place... About the sealing - silicone is on the way, i wanted to do it earlier but gave my silicone away to a friend that needed it more and i also only use the mantis when it is dry.

Ja genau. In den neueren Varianten ist die Federung allerdings härter was schon mal etwas hilft und bei meinem habe ich die PU Stäbe im inneren der Feder gegen härtere getauscht, auch das bringt mehr Stabilität.

Hi, ich habe damals direkt bei Kaabo bestellt. Mittlerweile gibt es den Mantis aber auch direkt bei lokalen Händlern in Europa (Frankreich und Belgien beispielsweise) wodurch du ihn schneller bekommst und Garantie hast sowie dich nicht mit Zoll usw. herumschlagen musst.

Hi, ja ich bin aus Österreich. Das "warum Englisch" Erklärt sich dadurch dass zum Zeitpunkt als ich das Video gemacht habe niemand im deutssprachigen Raum sich auch nur ansatzweise für den Mantis interessiert hat oder auch nur wusste dass es den gibt. Auch jetzt ist es so dass das Review des Mantis von damals nur mehr bedingt Aussagekraft hat zu einem 2 Jahre neueren aktuellen Mantis oder Legend der nur mehr Äußerlich aussieht wie das Gerät von damals.

But this was never intended to be a perfectly polished Sales Review, I did it in the first Place because I think many of those "perfect" Reviews lacked Essential Information. You can replace them, yes. But you need to find suitable ones. I am all in all not happy with the light system on the Manits, other scooters do that better
