Thanks for watching this one as well Andrew! I try to cover the good and the bad during these first impressions while going over some of the details that we commuters/ high power PEV enthusiasts are looking for. NYC is a great place to test out all these different things but the hardest thing to test here in the city is top speed. It took me a while to film those speed runs because I had to wait till we had space just incase anything goes wrong. Hopefully I can get my hands on a few more bikes and scooters so that I can keep doing these first impression videos!

Thank you for citing the battery type and UL certification. This is crucial information, both for evaluation of fire safety, and eventually, legal compliance. Too often overlooked in other reviews. Safe charging inside one's home has to be a key concern. In this case, being able to charge the battery inside a fireproof bag is icing on the cake. IMHO, with 10k+ city miles, most practical for NYC everyday is a class 4, for versatility vs performance. Very maneuverable and allows for carrying up an unexpected flight of stairs. For very long distance with guaranteed no lift required, these class 5's shine. Sine wave controllers bring the smoother acceleration curve. Some have adopted, some still use more aggressive analog (eg DualTron Thunder 3), they say for reliability.

Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel! Thanks for chiming in and taking the time to share. Especially for those of us in NYC I think information like that is really important to share if we can get our hands on the the info. You're right about the removable battery and charging in a bag being a game changer. That's incredible for our peace of mind but more importantly, it'll allow us to get around the bans that are occurring all over NYC. I don't quite believe that the previous controllers are more reliable but what do I know lol, I'm just a guy riding the scooters. I'm not an engineer or a programmer. I really like the stock modes theyve put into the scooter. Great options for NYC.

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Coacoabiscuts! First, congratulations on your new scooter. I'm excited for you to experience it for the first time! Just take your time going through the modes and make sure you take advantage of the customizability in the P Settings, that will really let you personalize the performance to suit your riding style. All the scooter's settings in the is video are stock and it's actually incredibly fun to ride as is. If you're taller, the deck height won't be much of a problem. PS, just be sure to armor up and wear protective gear when riding in the higher modes. I'm wearing CE2 and kevlar lined body armor (pants and sweater) in the video.

Thanks for watching Weldon, I'm glad you enjoyed it because it was alot of fun to ride! I was inspired by your camera angles so I tried them out for his one. Those low angles do a great job of capturing how the scooter and your lower body is responding to the craziness of the road! I got to try the GT Pro while i was there and I prefer the ride feel over the GTR. Honestly, that deck height will ruin it for alot of people because its so high and people will have trouble getting on and off the scooter.
@theweldonator Жыл бұрын
@eyebahnrides thank you bro! I really appreciate those kind words. I have to say, it all looked really good and crispy. Right on, I know the GT is a long drop for me with my leg. That's why I prefer the seat when stopping. It's easier for me just to put my leg down and not have a huge drop. But when I'm moving, I love to stand until my good leg gets tired. I bet with a seat it might feel better, but I know everyone likes to slam people with a seat. But they can pound sand, at least I'm still able to ride and not hurt. That's all that matters to me. 3 things I would've liked to see on the GTR as a current GT owner, would be a higher top speed. Next thing would be for both mode 4s in single and dual motor mode to reach top speed, just in less time than mode 5 would reach say 40 seconds to max in single motor mode 4, and 30 something to max in dual motor mode 4. Last thing would be the thumb throttle, or a new twist throttle
@eyebahnrides Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel Kelz! Also, thanks for sharing the insight! The GTR is fast, but I was surprised that they didn't go for 70+mph since its only a little faster than the current GT/ GTP. I guess their goal is to do nominal upgrades every year to the power and performance while spending most of their time on the features like battery, certifications, and quality of life improvements. I'd be interested to see how the thumb throttle or a "polish throttle" would change the experience with this scooter. Personally, I'm not fan of twist on a standing scooter just because we increase the risk of "whiskey throttling" a high powered scooter. Since we're standing, there are times where the scooter pulls so hard that we might accidentally over rotate the throttle too quickly. I think if we were seated like a motorcycle or a seated scooter we could lean forward and keep our throttle arm and wrist in a better position to maintain control regardless of how hard we accelerate. The only reason I bring this up is because I know a Nami Burn E2Max owner that totaled his scooter in the first 20 miles of ownership because he had a domino throttle installed and didn't realize how hard it is to maintain proper wrist position even when you're bracing for the hard acceleration in max settings!

I've seen a few people with this in the city and I always wonder how their legs are holding up when riding in stop and go traffic. I guess it'd be easier as a taller person but the bars are so low that it'd be weird riding with bars that low. I continue to wonder lol. The bigger tires, the performance, and most importantly the UL certification are all big pluses for those of us in NYC. I hope they manage to bring it down to match the other wolves in the next generation so it's more comfortable for city riders!

great point about the handle bars! Some people put soooooo much pressure on the stem because they pull and push on the bars too hard. I'm glad you enjoyed this one because it was the first time I reviewed anything outside of the Nami brand. I really enjoyed it and hope that I can do a few more of these in the future. I've gotten to try plenty of scooters over the years and I don't think there's any scooter that can rival the suspension of the Nami Burn E, Burn E2, and Burn E2Max. The E and E2Max are really close to the GTR as far as acceleration but only goes up to 60 MPH (I was able to get my Burn E up to 61 when the scooter was new and it had a full charge). The next closest as far as performance with a plush suspension that I've personally tried is the Dualtron X. That thing is incredible with those massive tires and Nami-like suspension. I'm hoping to get my hands on the new Emove, the Inmotion RS, and the Apollo Pro in the future. When those come out I'll finally be able to speak about them lol. great video :) personally 3 things I don't like about it(and that some should consider) -deck height, especially with the throttle lag you're gonna have to give yourself a push so that you don't fall on your side -handlebar height, I come from a scooter that had a higher(and more comfortable) so to me this feels really awkward and unsafe even after 70km of riding, and there is no reason kaabo should charge an extra $100 to rise it by 2 tiny inches... -acceleration, to me this feels way too fast and not smooth(but this might be due to me having the thumb throttle that has a huge deadzone, the place I got it from confirmed me that there are indeed 2 variations so upgrading would be an extra $50..) I think there is an option to make the scooter accelerate slower in the settings, I haven't checked yet, it's very hard to get used to especially when riding around traffic :/
@cheshire_ Жыл бұрын
and some issues I've had early on -all of the lights died somehow, I ordered a pack of 2amps fuses and hopefully this fixes it -the battery locking mechanism was broken, but doesn't matter that much to me -I feel like the alarm is way too sensitive, I can't even type the passcode without it going off(which is embarrassing in public) it would not cost anything to include a remote for unlocking it -bent disc brake really a bummer for such an expensive scooter, kaabo needs better qc if they're gonna sell at this price

Even at 2 years of riding experience (Apollo City Pro) I would find this beast difficult to control in a metro commute particularly at that height. Looks scary particularly in tight spaces on dedicated cycleways / paths as passing other bikes and walking pedestrians. I am only looking at the GTR purely for off road / rural thrills and NOT for an urban Commute. Anyone seriously thinking about buying this should know it's not built for City Commuting just like a pro mountain trail bike isn't built for City riding either. 22:15.... Yeah you almost 'floated' over the top of that car that pulled out in front of you, any closer and that deck height would of come in handy as you floated over it's roof!
@eyebahnrides6 ай бұрын
thanks for watching the review and welcome to the channel David! You're absolutely right. Even with years of experience and miles under our belts, these types of scooters are no joke and a bit out of place for us urban commuters. Just like you mentioned, these would be incredible for light off roading because of the deck height but may not be as good as a Burn E/ E2/ and or E2 Max because of how stiff the suspension feels compared to those scooters. Interestingly enough, I've been thinking about adding one of those "eMTB trail bike converted into an urban commuter" type of bikes from Specialized lol. I figured that suspension would be epic against the potholes of NYC but then I thought of the cost of maintaining finely tuned bikes like those and gave up hahaha! @eyebahnrides Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel Ryan. Both options are incredible beast scooters. If you want to go 40mph at most, the Burn E2 is a better option. The ride is much more plush, comfortable, the range is similar, and will be much easier to control. The reasons to choose the GTR is if you need the insane power because of the roads you commute on are high speed open roads or you want to future proof the performance. The other reason is you prefer to own the WKGTR. I hope this helps!
@xnostalgiax Жыл бұрын
@@eyebahnrides That helps a lot thanks. I've just heard people say the Kaabo dual stems are unbeatable for stability.
@eyebahnrides Жыл бұрын
@@xnostalgiax I would have to agree with them. The stability at during those speed runs were insane. Though I did get a little bit of wobble around 60+mph. I think it has to do with the suspension tuning (the front dual fork moves at a different rate from the rear which was a bit weird and I forgot to mention it in this video). Though I must say, the Nami Blast Max is almost as stable with that inverted front fork design. Neither of those scooters will need a steering damper. The Burn E only experiences wobbling over 50mph so you'll never experience it on the E2 if you have great riding posture. Like I was telling someone else in one of the other comments, I know the Namis are no longer the fastest or quickest scooters out there. But I still firmly believe they have the best package of performance, comfort, maneuverability, and reliability.

Idk what to get Nami Klima or GTR, I am mainly looking for great acceleration. How much more torque does the GTR have compared to Klima (not a big diff right?) also which one is more fun to ride do you think?
@eyebahnrides Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Evangelos! The GTR is much faster and accelerates a bit harder than the Klima but that's because the GTR peaks at almost triple the power of the Klima. With that said, the GTR is not 3x quicker than the Klima. I believe the Klima is a second slower to 30mph. Both scooters are amazing to ride and are plenty quick and will satisfy that need for acceleration. In my opinion, the Klima is one of the best scooters I've ridden and I really enjoyed my time with it. It's quick, nimble, and compact so it makes navigating the city so much more fun. With a top speed around 40mph, its plenty for me. I've always said that even though I love my Burn E and beast scooters like it (GTR), its a bit of overkill for my personal use case. However, if you live on roads that require that top end speed, it's hard to beat the GTR. I hope this helps!

Thanks for watching the video and welcome to the channel! The handlebar height is terrible even as a person of average height. They managed to monetize the ride height, next thing you know they're charging a subscription to unlock the full 13000watts of power =(. I could see that it could take a bit to get used to the height for maneuvering. I cut it out of the video but I got smacked in helmet a few times by low tree branches because I wasn't used to the height in that manner as well lol. So far how have you liked the scooter?
@norm9069 Жыл бұрын
@@eyebahnrides I'm liking it. I turned the traction control off as I found it limits the initial power and it seems to limit how much is pushed through the hubs to prevent skidding. I'd say it's not so much traction control as TC would drop power as soon it feels the tires skid, it's more like a tame version of a limiter. Once I turned that off, I had full access to it's peak power. Mine is also thumb throttle instead of trigger. Moving from the GT to the GTR, I'm used to and prefer the thumb throttle over the trigger.

I thought the suspension was adjustable? If so, you could have dialed it in perfectly for you instead of criticizing it.
@eyebahnrides10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel. My description of the suspension wasn’t really a critique, it just an observation of the natural suspension setting for wolves. It’s just like the way I described the Blast/ Klima in the Nami line up are naturally stiffer and less comfy than the Burn W. The suspension rebound and preload can be adjusted to give you a more comfortable ride based on road conditions, but it doesn’t change the stiff nature of a scooter tuned for high speed stability and how high the platform is off the ground. If the suspension had height adjustment settings like the Inmotion RS, I would’ve likely dropped the WKGTRs deck height by a few inches. Like I said in the video, I totally get why they have it that high. It’s just not ideal for people like me that live in an area with a lot of stop and go traffic. The first impression was through the lens of a “urban commuter”. I would’ve likely had a different opinion if I lived on more suburban roads where it’s continuous flow of high speed traffic in between towns.

This thing is too high for all the quick stops and starts you have to make on city streets. I never had to ride something that far off the ground. Also, anything over 30 m.p.h. is great but can be dangerous. Maybe it is good for parts of New Jersey where there ar ea lot of hills, but NYC is pretty flat in most places and the power this thing has is a bit too much. Grea videos that I enjoy, so thanks for the experience.

I even had to be mindful of mounting and dismounting equally on both sides to keep my leg strength even lol (like a gym work out). Also, I can see these massive beast scooters being really intimidating for the general public especially on congested bike lanes. Even though I'm going with the flow of traffic in the bike lanes over the bridge, I always get tons of dirty looks from pedestrians and cyclists. But thats also probably because we got all these reckless people ducking and weaving through the congestion at 40+mph.

Btw, she's in the walk path and the bike path I'm in is the width of 1.5 car lanes while the pedestrian path is about half a car lane, so she's plenty far away. There was actually alot of waiting in between any of the speed runs I've done on the bridge to minimize the contact with people. It's just difficult to find a straight away with no people in NYC. Anyways, I get that it's dangerous and that's one of the reasons I've been searching for a place to do these types of runs since I've started doing "review videos". That's why the most recent Nami Klima Speed Test Video was done on a shorter bridge in traffic. Hopefully, if I ever get to leave NYC, I'll have the opportunity to really test these machines away from people like everyone else. For now the new bridge location will have to do or I'll have to do all of them at 2am on one of the major Blvds (just note that since the city never sleeps, there will likely still be some time of traffic to navigate even at 2am)

Thanks for watching and welcome back! Hope that scooter is treating you well. The wolf King GTR is crazy fast and really stable. It's a great scooter for long range high speed riding even though the range isn't the best out there.

Howdy bro....that scooter gets to top speed quickly much quicker than the Nami..However im not convinced about the deck height...🛴☄

Thanks for watching the video Steven! It's definitely much quicker than the Burn E but it felt super sketchy when you start doing low speed maneuvering. I thought the Blast Max was like throwing a truck into a corner but this felt like a semi because its so heavy and tall. Now I get why people like the 72v Wolves!

I guess you cant go past a Nami Burn-e for an all round scooter...🛴☄
