@@ryankelty5232 no? matts technique was fantastic from 2006 onwards and still is, only wasnt great from 2001-2004, his chords thinned from overuse, doing 12 shows a month, guy toured like a madman on the level most bands don't, and not to mention hes a baritone singing in a tenor range of course it was way harsher on his voice, his technique is still there and great, just his vocal chords thinned and dont make the same sound coming together anymore

Anyone saying this dude is past his prime HAVE NOT seen them on tour this go around. He’s better than he’s ever been. Nursing the voice and proper technique is key and insures long success. Cory from slipknot, bullet, lamb of God, Micheal from the contortionist, Meshuggah (30 years and sounding better than ever) etc, all great examples of learning to be a professional vocalist through proper technique and guarantee long term success without “losing the voice.” Also anyone hoping for WTF days still. That was 20 years ago holy shit move on already 😂 amazing interview here and can’t wait to see the longevity with Matt. LIBAD just gets better with time. Can’t wait to see what they do next.

Everyone that rags on Matt for not sounding the same as he did 20 years ago needs to understand that he's older now and he's using a far better and safer technique than what he was doing for about a decade, which is what he described and he was also mainly singing in the tenor range, which while it sounded awesome wasn't good for vocal longevity as he's a natural baritone. He made the right choice choosing to learn a safer technique because it's already made him sound far better than he did during their last tour 6 years ago when he fucked up his voice again and as long as he sticks to it, he'll be fine

I had heard bat country on the radio, but never got into the band until by random as hell, coincidence. My little sisters boyfriend invited me to go see SOAD with them as he had an extra tickets, so of course I went, and A7X opened up for SOAD, and I was blown away and hooked since. I have gotten every long term gf into them and hell, even got one to love them so much she bought us a whole rock band setup just so we could play them and others lol. (This is YEARS after the rock band craze was over and the setup was expensive and harder to find.) I even played them for my son when he was a baby and growing up into a little boy/pre teen. 😊
