Hello Kariyawasam, thank you for doing this valuable second video with some more revealing facts about Soma thera's untimely death. I would like to comment on few points that is based on your above video and the previous video about Soma thera. 1)If it was true that Soma thera was struggling with diabetes for over ten years prior to his death, then it was highly likely he was doing a not so good job at managing his health condition with diet and medication. Diabetes is not a death sentence with modern medication, particularly type 2 diabetes that can be managed with medication, diet and exercise. Him having kidney, heart and other health issues indicate he had been doing a not so good job at managing his diabetes. Therefore, Soma thera was partly responsible for his untimely demise by not taking care of himself. 2)How accurate is the information that you brought about him where Soma thera was planning to contend in active politics, (4:12 - 4:22),particularly as a presidential candidate? That "revelation" is quite strange when we compare with his typical social and political work. One would rightfully think that Soma thera would've realized it was totally inappropriate for him to go into parliamentary politics, let alone contending as a presidential candidate. Therefore, I think you need re-evaluate where you received that information about his political aspirations and fact check it carefully. 3)Was Sisira Jayasekara a Christian or a Buddhist? Lalith Kothalawala was a Christian as far as I know and generally preferred Christians to align with his religious beliefs as well as with his typical charity work and ponzi schemes. I ask these questions because it is strange that Soma thera was that naive to either not know or accept an invitation from a neo-Christian fundamentalist looney tunes organization of shady background in Russia that was run by Sisira Jayasekara's brother Shanthi Pushpakumara Jayasekara. Either Soma thera was cleverly duped into accepting it or Soma thera's political aspirations blurred his vision or it was even possible Soma thera was suffering from a declining health related cognitive decline that inhibited his ability to assess the situation rationally. I would put my money on the possibility that Soma thera was duped into accepting it otherwise he would've known that it was not necessary for him to travel to unfamiliar situation to accept a practically useless doctorate(if we ignore the grant of money involved or any ego boost that he could've received from it). In that context, any ill intentions of ending his life during that trip to Russia cannot be dismissed entirely (particularly if he has said anything about his political aspirations in parliamentary politics). The conversion you brought about between Dayawansha Jayakody and Soma thera in relation to his Russian tour indicates that it was not entirely necessary for Soma thera to travel to Russia in order to accept that money. Furthermore, it was definitely suspicious why he was offered that money. More investigation into this matter is necessary to find out the truth behind purpose of Russian tour invitation by an alleged neo-Christian organization that was run by a Sri Lankan. My observation is that Soma thera was partly to be blamed for his predicament if we assume he was aware of his long standing health issues. Now, if I comment about my personal opinion on Soma thera from my encounters with him, I have a slightly different experience than most. In mid nineties, long before he became popular for his attractive social commentary driven Buddhist sermons in year 2000 and onward, I met him in a meeting where I was invited to attend. As I recall correctly, all I could hear was some shamanistic gibberish came out of Soma thera where he asserted about some evil spirit influencing a child who was with us when Soma thera was asked to comment about a health issue or something similar to that of that child. That was the end of it and I avoided Soma thera after that as I've always had a bad feeling about anybody who talks witchcraft or similar. Fast forward quite a few years and he was giving Buddhist sermons that were based on more rational contemporary facts about social, political and religious life in Sri Lanka. In short, I've never met the Soma thera that influenced the Sinhala Buddhist society in a very short time to encourage thinking about their shortcomings and stupidities. Instead I met a version of Soma thera prior to his popularity where I saw a Buddhist priest who talked something alone the lines of witchcraft and pseudoscience. The reason I avoided his sermons, lectures or literature in late nineties to early 2000's was because of that negative impression I had about him from my first encounter. However, I can see for whatever the reason, he must have had re-invented himself, not long after my encounter with him. I am aware of Soma thera and his personal background prior to 1990's as well, but irrelevant to the context of this video and discussion. My personal opinion of Soma thera is that he was somewhat enigmatic and unpredictable. I think in his 40's, he had an "awakening" and was drawn back to Sri Lanka to follow what his "heart" was telling him. I would say that he was living a life that he strongly disliked in Australia, hence the reason for leaving there and coming back to Sri Lanka to never to go back there. Soma thera has done some genuinely good work for the revvial of cultural Sinhala Buddhism in Sri Lanka by looking back at his -later work. Unfortunately, I was avoiding him as I had misgivings about the sincerity of his social-political commentary driven Buddhist sermons. However, we need to confirm about the truth about his presidential election aspirations because that goes without saying that he was considering disrobing himself in order to enter into mainstream active parliamentary politics in the form of a contender for presidential election. That is because otherwise we have conclude him as insane and conclude my first impression about him from my first encounter with him as the correct judgement about who he really was. Ultimately, if it was true that Soma thera had long standing health issues and he was well aware of his condition, then he was mostly responsible for his untimely death. If it is true that he expressed his presidential election aspirations while being a Buddhist priest, then my initial assessment about him from my first encounter with him was correct. Personally, I seriously doubt that he seriously expressed any active political aspirations in the presidential election unless he was planning to disrobe himself or unless he was losing his mind. Either way, there are contradicting information about him in this video about his character in that regard, in addition to the contradiction or the change of his character that I indicated above with my personal encounters with him. Finally, I don't think we should dismiss the high probability that there were certain groups of religiously and politically active people inside and outside the country that would have wanted Soma thera dead. Some deeper investigative journalism is needed in order to prob more into the story of Russian tour to accept the alleged doctorate and money from an alleged Christian organization. I most certainly smell a rotten rat carcass there regardless of whether Jayasekara brothers were involved or not involved in something heinously criminal in relation to orchestrating Soma thera's death.

Like many others, I lacked the resources to distinguish facts from fabrications. This video clarifies the reality of his death. As usual, crooked and greedy people used the situation for their political gain.
