One of the all-time greatest songs in the roughly 70 year old mallu film songs history.... I am not only fascinated by Deepu's ability to notate the songs with a hundred sangathees but also to sing that song exactly the way our inimitable Dasettan did sing years ago. Any one who has got the real glympses of classical swaraas can get a feel of the inner beauty of the song instead of getting a peripheral feel from outside. Even that perepheral feel is fantastic. Each swara,thus deciphered by the listener , lights a lamp of inner joy. I have heard many singers and composers repeatedly maintaining that Dasettan sings a song with many concealed beauty internotes and subnotes so that notating a Dasettan song is not a cake walk at all for any body. He without affecting the raga feel sometimes shifts the notes cleverly to make the song differently beautiful. You can,for example, see here Deepu speaking(10.40 minutes) about a Madhyamam which is a trifle lower than the raga's original scale's Madhyamam( I could not get that little lowering that frequency). He does this purposefully and perhaps so concealingly that a second singer just sings a Dasettan song not exactly as the original had been done. We are waiting for the Sarasangi part of the song. Sarasangi, I identify and remember as the base ragam of an Arjunanan master song in the film Karutha Pournami ,. The song starts like മാനത്തിൻ മുറ്റത്ത് മഴവില്ലാൽ അഴകെട്ടും ... The same was sung by Dasettan himself in the late sixties of the last century .It radiates a misery filled sorrow around. The most important part in today's video is that it speaks about the possible variations in the notations depending on how the song has entered into the mind of the listener. One can't eleminate micro variations while notating difficulult songs.

സ്വരങ്ങൾ notate ചെയ്തിട്ടാണ് ഒരു പാട്ടു compose ചെയ്യുന്നത് എന്ന് താങ്കളോട് ആരാണ് പറഞ്ഞത് ഹേ ? ഒരു പാട്ട് കമ്പോസ് ചെയ്യാൻ സ്വരങ്ങൾ ഒന്നും വേണ്ട. ഇനി ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി സ്വാമി notate ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അതിന്റെ കോപ്പി എവിടെയും ഇല്ല. അതിന്റെ ആവശ്യവും ഇല്ല. ഒരു പാട്ട് കേട്ട് notate ചെയ്യാൻ സംഗീതവും സ്വരങ്ങളും അറിഞ്ഞാൽ മതി. അദ്ദേഹം ചെയ്ത പാട്ട് ഞാൻ മാറ്റിയിട്ടില്ല. ആ പാട്ട് സംഗീത വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾക്ക് മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി എന്റെ രീതിയിൽ സ്വരങ്ങൾ ആയി മാറ്റി അറിവ് പകർന്നു കൊടുക്കാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നു. ആ ഒരു ഉദ്യമത്തിനെ അഭിനന്ദിച്ചില്ലെങ്കിലും കുറ്റം പറയാൻ എങ്കിലും ശ്രമിക്കാതിരിക്കു. എത്രയെത്രയോ ആൾക്കാർ notate ചെയ്താണ് പാട്ട്‌ പഠിക്കുന്നത്. ഇതൊന്നും അറിയില്ല അല്ലെ? ഒരു പാട്ട് എന്താണെന്നും notation എന്താണെന്നും ഒരു അറിവില്ലാത്ത താങ്കളെ പോലെ ഉള്ളവർക്ക്‌ ഈ വീഡിയോ കാണാനുള്ള യോഗ്യത തന്നെ ഇല്ല എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു. പാട്ട് പഠിക്കാൻ ഉള്ള എളുപ്പ വഴികളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് notate ചെയ്യുക എന്നുള്ളത് ഏറ്റവും basic ആയ ഒരു കാര്യമാണ്. ഞാൻ ഈ പാട്ടു കമ്പോസ് ചെയ്തു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞില്ലല്ലോ. ദക്ഷിണാമൂർത്തി സ്വാമി notate ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അത് കേട്ട് പഠിച്ചോളൂ . .
