Indian and Asian culture, in general, is so amazing. A lot of concepts in America and Western culture are drawn from those roots. It's crazy how much you can learn from other cultures and how much they actually help and work. Thanks for sharing🥰
@chloihunter76522 жыл бұрын
I so agree! Each culture has something beautiful to offer. I hope one day the world can unite and teach and learn from each other the best we have to offer. But for sure Asian ,and African, cultures don't play when it comes to beauty and hair. They know what works down to a science, I believe that it because their cultures have been around longer than the western world and they've had eons to develop what works. Lots of knowledge to be had!

Sealed the jar and left it somewhere dark, in my closet. I occasionally shake the jar but I don’t open the jar I did twice though but I won’t anymore. And as for my scalp. Im south indian and I have naturally curly hair that I only just started wearing naturally. A really easy way to style your nautral hair is to start with really wet hair (when I say wet I mean like if you added any more water your hair would start dripping) and then raking through a hair mask. I use the Maui Moisture coconut hair mask but you can use whatever mask/leave-in-conditioner you have available. Once I have the product in I use a wide tooth comb to detangle and then I scrunch my hair and it should make a squelching sound. Sometimes I'll rake through some lightweight oil (argan oil is my fav) but that will make the airdrying process longer. Once all the product is in I scrunch my hair with a cotton t-shirt to get rid of the excess water and then I let it airdry. Once it's dry I fluff it up by shaking the roots and throughout the week I'll add some more of the mask or some oil to make my hair less frizzy. You can also restyle your curls if they're flat by spraying some water. I hope this helps!!!!

Great video! Black woman here who has transitioned to an all ayurvedic hair regimen for me and my daughter. Currently infusing a bhringraj, amla, brahmi and hibiscus oil to start oiling my hair. I am allergic to coconut oil and castor oil, so I used jojoba oil as my carrier oil and added a few drops of peppermint oil. Should be ready by Sunday. I recently saw another video about the onion juice, but hadn't tried it. Will pick up some fresh pearl onions today in prep for my Sunday regimen. I have been making my own shampoo using shikakai and sidr powder with a few drops of tea tree oil. Hoping that will help rid of the onion scent. For my deep conditioner, I use fenugreek, amla, and cassia as a paste using coconut milk, and so far so good. This regimen is every other week for me. On that off week, I use Soultanicals Ayurevedic products. Thanks for this video! It was extremely helpful!

3:02 when you talked about your grandma massaging your hair...I just went into a flashback of when my grandma used to massage my hair as I sit near her and listen to her singing kirtan or just reading some scripture sitting in a sunlit inner courtyard in our old traditional Indian house. I miss those days so much. Plus, I also use a lot of Ayurvedic herb powders like amla powder, shikakai, hibiscus, reetha, bhringraj and sometimes mix in a bit of henna powder too and make a paste of it by adding some tea water or coffee...it gives my naturally light brown hair a bit of red colour too. For conditioning I sometimes add two spoonfuls of yogurt and a few drops of lavender oil/castor oil to it. My mom taught me how to make that paste. Also you are Stunning!

You should try aloe vera and coconut oil. It thickened my hair within 2 weeks!!! It's my holy grail and the scent isn't strong at all. Aloe vera plant is the best investment ever. I'm at 3 months into using this combo and my hair is so shiny and thick like it used to be during my childhood before I ruined it with constantly straightening it haha. . . The way the I do it is I oil my hair whenever I notice that it's getting greasy at the centre then I spread blended aloe vera flesh (translucent part) all over my scalp. It's very watery and I only use about 3-4 teaspoons of it. The leftover I apply all over my face, neck, and elbows. My mom uses a blend of heated curry leaves, coconut oil, and onion juice. I can't bear the scent at all :/ Edit: It fixed wonky hairline too

@@nishas6968 yes i oil my hair with cold pressed virgin coconut oil early in the morning only on my scalp then give it a 20 minute massage. I let it soak through until around noon. After that I apply blended aloe vera (it becomes watery when blended thoroughly) all over my scalp only. At around 4 or 5 pm , when the aloe vera has dried completely I'll wash it off

Just thinking, it matters that you do the onion juice after the oil… probably doesn’t absorb as much with that oil layer between the juice and your skin/hair, thus less smell retention. Wonder if the ladies that have that issue put it straight on their scalp or something?

Your hair show how well maintained they are, however, as you know that oil doesn't absorb water so are you sure that applying onion juice after oiling will help?

Oiling your hair before putting the onion juice doesn't make sense cause the oil is literally creating a water repelling barrier??? If anything put onion juice BEFORE oiling Basic science????
@kaaviya2 жыл бұрын
that's just the way I've done it growing up - oil first, then hair mask/onion juice. The oil massage is the most important part to penetrate in my opinion! But do what works for you!
@kritikachauhan68192 жыл бұрын
I think it makes perfect sense. While onions do have anti inflammatory properties, they are also a mild irritant. They can cause rashes and in some cases, burning sensation. It's advised to dilute onion extract by adding a few drop of any essential oil/ oily base to the extract.
