There were some protesters who recently glued their hands to the ground at a car show. The organizers of the car show just let them be and at the end of the day, turned out the lights and locked the doors. Leaving them there.

The issue is a ton of people think they are main characters in a movie/game. When they find out they are not, it's the best thing ever.

I was driving across the state (North Carolina, about a 6.5 hour drive mainly on the same highway.) In Raleigh on 40W, there's a ton of construction. I had a woman tailgating me crazy close. I tried everything reasonable (didn't brake check her, though I wanted to - just too dangerous) to get her to pull back a bit. I couldn't switch lanes, and I was keeping up with traffic. Finally, I chucked the remnants of my iced coffee (not the cup! just the contents) out my window at her. That stopped the tailgating, but it also meant I needed a car wash. Instant karma, though.

4:26 By blocking the road groups like that cause people to use more petrol therefore making pollution worse.

Had a road-rager hold me up by knifepoint. I wasnt the driver, I was waitressing and his 1st victim ran to me to get help. Turns out the roadrager was an offduty officer. Roadrage is way worse now, then it was back then.

When I was in college, I lived in Westwood, California for awhile. There were constantly protests about one thing or another, going on there. One morning, my friend and I were in my car driving to school. There were protesters on both sides of the street, on the sidewalk. As soon as the light turned green, they converged into the crosswalk and laid down, staying there until the light turned red again. And it was a looong wait at that particular signsl before the light would turn green again. It made me and my friend late to class. I'm all for people having the right to peacefully protest, but other people have places to be, too. And tbh, you lying in the road and making us miss the light is not the best way to get us to join your cause, lol.

How is "just stop oil" stopping oil by having hundreds of cars sat still with their engines running?!

@@straightsithmale9872The problem with these protesters is they don't know when to stop. You need to do enough to get people to listen to you and maybe be a bit of a nuisance but if you make people angry at you then they turn away from your cause and view anyone else talking about it as a troublemaker just like you and ignore them and then you've done great harm to your cause instead if helping it. One day they might actually realise this. And maybe one day they'll also realise that all those vehicles they are blocking are sitting there pumping loads more pollution into the atmosphere. Because of their protest holding them up.

@5:50, aI know it was Canada, but we have those roads in the States: its a "passing" median...the line should be dotted to enter and exit the passing lane. Likewise, opposite traffic should have a solid, double line meaning dont enter that same passing median.👍🏾

Forcing the cars to idle in front of your protest just guarantees way more pollution on that road than normal. The vast majority of pollution comes from large scale industries anyways, but you won't find them protesting steel mills or heavy metal mining.

I've seen a couple clips of protesters blocking roads in the UK. It's so dumb and counterproductive. I remember a particularly infuriating one where a woman was pleading to get through because her dad was dying in hospital. All for protesting but keep it off the road

You have a right to protest. You do not have the right to create a public disturbance. Just like how in the US the Freedom of Speech protects your right to assemble together, but that doesn't mean you can organize a destructive riot.

I'm 100% with you on the protests. Peaceful protests are fine. You can stand on the side of the road and hold your little signs and shout your slogans all you want but the instant your blocking roads, entrences to things etc. It's no longer a peaceful protest as you are causing chaos and interfering with peoples lives.

I absolutely hate it when protestors occupy a roadway, especially a highway! My son was a delivery driver for medical supplies. Sometimes they were urgently needed. One such time, protestors (Geo. Floyd) blocked a highway near downtown Mpls & he had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to get out & find a different way! These people have no respect for anyone!

I disagree with the idea that it takes courage to sit in a road to protest. People know that we are forced to play by their rules. That if they go sit out there and something happens, the hammer of the law will come down on the motorist, not them. Let us get away with putting a few of them under the tires, then I'll call it courageous.

The point of a protest is to cause inconvenience. How else are you going tonget your point across when all other avenues have been exausted. I support all peaceful protest and blocking the roads. Don't want people blocking the roads pay more attention to what they are asking. After all that is exhausted I would support a violent protest if the issue demands it. Such as the American Police keep brutalizing its citizens. Always start peacefully, but if violence is necessary then that is what needs to be done.

Because your rights should stop where the next persons start. Please rethink how you feel. They have a right to not support your cause and use the roadway. I wonder how you would feel if it was a Christian, Jewish or Muslim group demanding we all find God? Pro life? Neonazi? How about Big Oil? NAMBLA? This is a society. Protest legally.

What about people that are trying to get to work, possibility of losing a job, or could tie up traffic an block emergency vehicles. Blocking businesses . If your protesting make people frustrated with you, they are less likely to be sympathetic to your cause. I’m all for protesting, but plan it out for maximum POSITIVE results. In the 1960’s there were coordinated marches.

You have to see the bigger picture; if your protest pisses off people by making them late to work it gives anyone without a legitimate reason to undermine your effort a really easy one. If your efforts achieve a net loss in support and then you think ‘well peace didn’t work’ you’re just an idiot.
@codypk5111

Speaking of which you heavily underestimate the average person doing their daily tasks’ ability or desire to change the world in the direction of whatever protest is happening. Paying more attention to something isn’t gonna get them to work on time either or get their kids from school etc
