Great performance - and that should be enough... but truth be told I am losing a bit of respect for her since she is capitulating to the industry prefab pop imagery. I wish we could just go back to music just being about music... back when it didn't matter how you looked but that's just not realistic I guess. I hope she finds her way out of the bullshit and can rise above it all. She is a legitimate talent.

Thought I was pretty clear but let me spell it out... Much of her music extols the principles of being yourself, immaterial and honest and initially her image reflected this sentiment. She is being groomed by her label and management into a Katy Perry look-alike and where she once presented as the rootsy americana type home-girl, she is now falling into line with a cultivated pop image that goes directly against the grain of her music's sentiment. I think that sucks. I also mentioned that I miss the era of music where people's image meant less and their work meant more. We are far away from that now. I think that sucks. That's what I am ranting about.
