Kadabra Vs Mr. Mime: The Psychotic Showdown! Pokemon Red/Blue Solo Itemless Challenge Run

Playthrough Rules:
1. Only my selected pokemon in battle
2. No items in battle
3. No glitches or exploits (the badge boost and marowak skip permitted)
4. No Losing of ANY Kind (No Blackout Training)
5. No Double-Team TM before level 100*
Other Things to Know:
1. Pokeballs (HM Pokemon) are allowed in battle
2. I play the game at 4x game speed (238 frames per second)
3. My Pokemon have perfect DVs
4. Skipping the bike is not allowed
5. Saving between Elite 4 members is allowed
6. If the solo Pokemon faints and I choose to blackout it counts towards my reset counter and I still have to reset
Terms:
1. STAB
--- Same Type Attack Bonus - a 1.5x damage multiplier for using a move that shares it's type with the attacker
2. DVs
--- The Gen1 equivalent of IVs (individual values), these range from 0-15
3. Stat XP
--- The Gen1 equivalent of EVs. But unlike EVs, you can reach the limit with every stat

I love the johto sprites! Makes Kanto look better! If you do a vs you should do the sprites from gold and the other from silver since the sprites are different !

I plan on doing gen 2 in the future. Unfortunately I don't really know how to do that other than just play those versions of the game. If I recall gold has more story than silver, so that would give one of them an unfair advantage. I will look into it.

Thank you very much, I saw there was a lot more engagement in vs videos, and I too thought they were more fun to watch. This way you have a reason to make it to the end, other than the tier list. This is also why I picked pokemon that I thought would be close and interesting, so far I'm 2/2 on that. I supposed at some point, one will be too good, and won't be a challenge.

The next one is going to have everything, I asked what the solo run KZbinrs who they thought would win, and it's really divided. The movesets just give Weepinbell a clear advantage, that Victreebels extra stats can't beat. But Victreebels gets better starting attacking moves. It's actually crazy how different these pokemon are despite being bellsprout evolutions.

Exactly, if it weren't for vanman doing poliwhirl and polywrath, I don't think many people would believe the lower evolution has a chance at winning.

Gen 1 is just the best because almost every single pokemon can win. While in other gens, the AI and movesets can prevent some from winning entirely.

I personally think that Mr. Mime will do better. Mr. Mime will have a better move pool and a better attack stat. Even though Kadabra can hit harder, Mr. Mime will be able to take hits better and have more options for getting around hurdles. So my vote is on Mr. Mime
