Tender cashew payasam is a traditional payasam, which is prepared during festivals like yugadi & Vishu. Because this is the season of cashew crop. Either it can be mixed with gram dal or even prepared without mixing anything except rice paste. Be careful in the process of cutting cashews as there is a content in it, which may be harmful to your skin. Applying oil is a safety measure. This payasam requires minimum ingredients such as jaggery, coconut milk and rice. Adding gram dal is optional. So it is one of the tasty and healthy payasam which is oblated to lord during festivals.
Ingredients:
Tender cashew 50
Gram dal 1/2cup
ghee 2-3sp
Soaked white rice (dosa rice) 1/4cup
Jaggery 2cups
Coconut milk
Cardamom powder
Salt pinch

🙏🙏☺️ So excited to see this being made!! My grandparents are of the chitrapur saraswat community, and this payasa is a staple offering at Ugadi, and also a favourite sweet dish, anyway ☺️ We make it exactly this way, we know it as Madgané. The tender cashew nut, (which city people have to buy from the Mangalore stores here) we know it as Bibbo. These are konkani words!! Honestly, this channel has been like a reunion with family and friends from long ago!!
