Kaffir Lime Tree - How to Grow in Container - Roasted Chicken recipe

Stuffing: 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp red chili sauce, 1 tbsp minced garlic, 1 tsp chicken powder, a handful of Sichuan peppercorn, chopped red chili (optional)
Seasoning for the outer layer of the chicken: 2 tsp of soysauce, 2 tsp of red chili sauce, 1 tbsp of vegetable oil
Bake at 450 degree for the first 20 minutes, then 350 degree for another 1 hour.

Yeah I bought a couple of leaves on line just love aroma can mixed it with rice … just bought small Kaffir plant on line just took a chance it’s growing now hopefully by the summer I will get more leaves

What above 50C everyday you would be roasted 🍠 Pomelo tree has double leaf whilst new leaf. They use a variety of Mandarin tree as root stock

I finally bought one of these plants today :) its about 2 ft tall and it has some nice new growth but also the other leaves are quite dry. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to “TLC” it back to full health?

Is there a specific time you should pull the kaffir lime leaves for cooking or you can do it anytime? How fast does it take for the leaves to grow back?

You can pick the leaves any time. Just make sure you leave some on the tree for photosynthesis purpose. They grow back pretty quicky, I say in 2-3 weeks. Just fertilize with liquid fertilizer, and they will grow back fast.

I leave my citrus plants in the attach garage without heat. They perk back when it warms up and I bring them outside in the spring.

I ordered this tree from citrus.com. You can also find it at fourwindsgrowers.com. Both of the websites are out of stock for now. I recommend keep stalking them until they have inventory. Or you can order from other website or even from Etsy. Growing from seed will take years and thr success rate is low because the nursery needs to graft the plant so that it is tolerant to cold climate. I recommend getting the plant.Good luck.

May be not. It lost leaves due to many reasons: being left outside in cold weather, too much water, disease... It is important to find the cause and revive the tree accordingly.

I grow Kaffir for leaves, not fruit. The skin of kaffir lime is rough and there is not much juice in the fruit. I think if you want it to bear fruit, you should try to swap to fertilizer that promote fruits (fertilizer that has higher P, phosphate). Good luck.

Hello. I know you have talked about not bringing soil into the house for fear of contaminating hydroponics system. I have iHarvest but want to also grow a Meyer lemon tree by the window. Any tips for ensuring sterile soil?

Not everyone got pests using soil. It would reduce the chance if the soil came from an unopened bag. Some people went through the process of baking the soil to sterile it. Some poured boil water in the soil before using it. I would recommend putting the soil matter far away from your iHarvest. I have some soil potted plants in my living room upstairs and I have my hydroponic downstairs. Good luck!
