Steve started with a #3 a year ago and love it, my striping instantly improved. Just bought a 0,1 and a 5. Oh my lord the 0 and 1 are just insanely good and the 5 lays the biggest teardrops. To be able to lay a line, then scroll and even outline with 1 brush is awesome. It’s all about confidence and your brushes have let me enjoy this hobby, love my Kafka brushes.

@co2linable So glad your enjoying my efforts,all brushes have a use , I try to make mine versatile , and less frustrating for all , after all this is supposed to be fun ,right? Regards, Steve

@Brainshellsolutions The short stroke is able to achieve tighter curves with more control due to the hair composition and design ,great for younger hands or smaller grip. Control is the main issue here. So far only one person didn't like it ,but I suspect that the sizing was not thoroughly removed before use. Steve

Vince , Try cleaning the brush out , then saturate in vasiline (petroleum jelly) and flatten on a piece of card board so that all of the hair is straight then put it in the freezer for two days . remove from freezer ,wipe most of the vasiline off then rinse in thinner ,then mineral spirits,then soak in my brush oil...and don't do it again! Seriously, try this and let me know what happens. What 's happened is called fish-hooking . Hope it works. Steve

@Cre8iveSignWorks These are not yet available anywhere. Should be a couple of months, I'll be doing my own manufacturing from now on and it takes time doing the transition. I will make it known when they are ready. Steve

Some people watch aquarium videos or fireplace videos to relax. I like to watch Mr. Kafka work his magic with his paint brush.

@tenor0555 If you add hardener to your One Shot You should add it to the mineral spirits, you can clearcoat with out problems and you marry the paint every time you pallet your brush . I may start adding hardener to avoid early fade. Our sun here is extreme. Regards, Steve

I personally like a "live" pallet or gloss format, the paint doesn't break down the paper as with newsprint. I use Signs of the times magazine for pallets.

Hey Steve, Jason in NC. Do your brushes need to be trimmed or are they ready to use when ordered. I'm ready to buy them now with all the trouble I've had trying to learn with the Mack brushes, but I don't want to mess them up when I do. Thanks!

Hello Steve what do you mean by taking the size/sides out??
@stevekafka4 жыл бұрын
Ruben Garcia we put a sizing in the hair to keep them safe in shipping, this must be removed before use, best accomplished with hardware store lacquer thinner then mineral spirits, then into my brush oil for long life.

I get Signs of the Times magazine it has nothing between it's covers that interests me or anyone else in my chosen field but has a high gloss format that works great for palletting. Never heard about wax on the paper, why doesn't it melt?I also use Smooth Stroke to prevent fish-eye.
