Prep time: 20 min
Makes approx. 9 patties
Ingredients
1 kg Lamb leg, minced
1 small onion
1 cup flat leaf parsley
1 red capsicum
2 slices white bread
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp Lebanese baharat*
To serve
Burger buns
lettuce leaves
tomato
pickles
preferred sauce
Method
In a food processor, start by processing the two pieces of white bread until you have a fine crumb. Remove and set aside.
Now add onion, capsicum and parsley leaves. Process until almost paste like. Tip out this blend into a sieve and strain off any excess liquid.
In a large bowl, add lamb mince, crumbed bread, the capsicum blend, salt, pepper & baharat
Using your hands, mix all these ingredients until everything is well combined.
Measure out balls of meat mixture to 150g each and mould each into a flat round patty shape.
When ready to cook, preheat your bbq to medium and cook each patty for approximately 4 minutes on either side. You can of course do this on the stove in a frypan or griddle.
Serve warm in a toasted burger bun with all your favourite burger fillings.
*baharat an Arab spice blend that can be found at all middle eastern grocers.
