The man was responsible for her son’s death (and she believed her husband was dead too, but turns out he survived) and she couldn’t stand the fact that he had the audacity to have a family of his own when he deprived her of her family. So she did the same exact thing to him. I feel bad for Mei, Miku and Rin though, because they had no part in Kayo’s family’s death and got punished for it. At the very least Riliane forgave Kayo for killing her at the World’s End.

I know the whole point of the response songs on the SCAP Album was "If only etc. etc." but really, almost all of the sinners could have been saved if they had someone like Rilliane had Allen (and later Clarith, to a lesser extent). Gumina could have told Cherubim everything before...*that* happened, Carlos could have tried to keep contact with Banica and prevent her contracting and...well, those are the main two that come to mind, but since so many of the contracts are brought on by trauma, if someone had just...supported them, any of them could have become like Rilliane. But no one was there for them except people who used them for their own gains, and that's what really makes Allen such a special character in the Evillious Chronicles(even if he's got a bit of a sharper tongue than we had expected).

+Elly Gershovich That is wrong. Held was the Millennium Tree, from BT 500 something to a-bit-after EC 505. Michaela and Gumillia were forest spirits. Michaela has always been interested in humans and when Elluka said she needed a couple of spirits to incarnate as humans, Held allowed Michaela and Gumillia to be, in fact, incarnated as humans. When Michaela dies, she incarnates again into a plant, and Elluka (not Ma! Ma will begin to exist only a century later) and Gumillia give this plant to Clarith, revealing its identity as Clarith's friend as well as that it will become the New Millennium Tree. Not long after, Clarith and Rin plant Michaela next to Held (she isn't given to Rin at all). Michaela will become the new Millennium Tree, as Held's body will die soon after.

It IS Michaela. After she died, she turned into a sapling that Clarith planted and took care of along with Riliane who felt terrible about what she did. She took Held's place as the Millennium Tree since he burned down during the Green Hunting. Later, after the world ended and everyone became souls, Michaela thanks Riliane for helping her become a great tree.

But Rillane is most innocent of all them, and btw she never chose to made contact with any demon, she was possessed without her knowing. And the when she got second chance (she was reborn) to see her brother, she got killed.
